Make your way around the sights and sounds of Colombo the fun and local way–by tuk-tuk–on this private city tour for just you and your group. Your local guide knows the city by heart, and will take you to the top sites without wasting any time. You cover a lot more ground on this tour than you would on your own, and try lots of street food along the way too.

What's Included
- Coffee and/or TeaWe take you to a local market to see how Sri Lankan coffee is made and taste a cup (shop is closed public holidays & Sundays). Then, we'll try famous Ceylon tea at a small shop.
- LunchOn our morning tours we finish with a Sri Lankan local lunch at a local restaurant.
- Alcoholic BeveragesFamous Sri Lankan Lion Beer :) you will find them in our onboard cooler, we recommend you BYO as well.
- DinnerOn the afternoon tour, normally starts at 3.30 pm finish with a local street food dinner. You will try very popular Sri Lankan dinner dishes like Kottu, Egg hoppers, and various other options.

Had the best day in Colombo. Kusal speaks perfect English, was always courteous, and had a well planned itinerary that showcased all the Colombo highlights. He took us to an authentic Sri Lankan lunch that was absolutely superb. His driving was consistently safe, and we felt completely taken care of throughout the entire day.
Kusal was always ready to take photos for us and went above and beyond in every way. He even dropped us off at a different end point without hesitation. A truly stunning day with a kind Sri Lankan gentleman! Highly recommend.

The Colombo tuk-tuk tour was fantastic from start to finish! Riding through the busy streets in a tuk-tuk was such a fun and authentic way to experience the city. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and shared lots of interesting stories about Colombo’s history, culture, and hidden gems. We visited a great mix of landmarks, local markets, and food spots that I would never have found on my own. Everything was well-organized, safe, and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a unique and memorable way to explore Colombo!

We did a City Tuk Tuk tour on the day we arrived in Colombo. It was a great way to see the city and learn about the its history. Our guides were very friendly and informative and we really enjoyed exploring the town by Tuk Tuk. The dinner at the end was local food and very tasty.

Fantastic tour. Guide was very knowledgeable on local history sharing so much information we had no idea about. The place we stopped for lunch was great. Proper local place with no frills but food was so tasty. Would certainly recommend this.

Exploring Colombo in tuk-tuk was really amazing experience. Obama was a great driver, handling expertly the traffic, showing famous and less famous places and explaining everything. I had enough time to explore the places and also to relax with the fresh juice adn tea tasting. The dinner provided was delicious, as well as the ice-cream. I can only recommend this experience.

Well the tour started badly. Instead of being picked up @ the port (as was advertised when booking) we were messaged saying we could do a short walk up the road to meet @ a hotel. Sounded easy enough- NO. As we walked thru the port gate we were relentlessly hassled, followed & harassed by tuk tuk drivers. We even had one saying it was illegal to walk around this high security area & tried to shove us into his tuk tuk. So by the time we got to the hotel we were totally frazzled!
Luckily it was a great tour of all the major cultural sights of Colombo. From temples to markets to tea & coffee tastings (i know that doesn't sound that riveting but it WAS really interesting) But best of all was the food @ the end!! Our guide Obama was a kind & quiet spoken man & we thoroughly enjoyed our tour w him

Thank you for your honest feedback. We truly regret any confusion regarding the pickup location. While our tour description clearly states that we do not pick up from the port, Viator's system still allows guests to select the passenger terminal as a pickup point. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control, but we always send a message before the tour to confirm the correct meeting location.

Obama was an excellent guide and we saw most of the city of Colombo. I am a female traveling alone and felt totally comfortable. I didn’t love the hard sell at the coffee and tea place but that’s part of the gig. Def recommend the tour with Obama!

I did the Tuk-tuk tour of Colombo with Obama, who was fantastic! Slightly late pick-up from my hotel as there was another couple joining in another tuk-tuk. Greeted with a fresh coconut to drink. Got to experience many of the local sites and even had a local beer while in the tuk-tuk. Lunch was delicious and authentic. I highly recommend going with Obama as he really goes above and beyond.

We had a wonderful 5hrs on our tuk tuk tour … Obama was a brilliant guide … very knowledgeable, spoke English really well, patient and interesting and a safe driver! Loved all the sites/visits, and getting to sample different teas & coffees, and lunch was delicious! Would highly recommend!

Obama and Majid provided a wonderful tour of Colombo. We especially loved the Spice Market experience. They were knowledgeable and we felt like we saw a wide variety of Sri Lankan highlights and experiences. Highly recommend. We had children and a Grandma on board and was a great way to get around by Tuk Tuk. Suitable for both age groups. Thank you for a great afternoon

After a tiny bit of confusion at the start of the tour things went perfectly the rest of the day. We had our own Tuk Tuk, but we were in a group of 5 vehicles all going together. The host was very friendly, knowledgeable and checking in with the group to make sure we were focusing on what we wanted to see and when we wanted to get back. We were all from the same ship and none of us wanted to “cut it close” to return to harbor time.” Since it was Sunday traffic in the city was light (with the exception of the Pattah shopping streets). We therefore were moving faster than normal. We were taking to various temples and monuments. For lunch we were taken to a local restaurant. We got a genuine local food experience, not a tourist trap designed for foreign visitors. We could not have been happier with how the day went. The driver was friendly and helpful. The guide was excellent. Pickup is at a hotel just 600
Meters from the port gate. Drop off was right at the port gate.

A good all rounder for those wanting to view main places. Guide informative and our driver was brilliant always pointing out places of interest. Roads were apparently quiet as a Sunday - hate to think how the dodgems race would work on weekdays!

Obama was an excellent guide. Great information and flexible with itinerary. Got over a late start with mechanical problems and saw and experienced some great city sights. Mango drink, cold drinks in the tuk tuk and lunch were really welcome additions.

Obama went above & beyond to ensure we were happy! The little things go a long way! We were greeted with a ley of flowers, water in a cooler, fresh coconut water, stopping so I could get my phone fixed, picked up some beer while we were taste testing tea & more! It was such an amazing day! The only thing that would have made the day better would be to have given us some free time to shop at the local markets! We had a fabulous tour with Obama today. He was very friendly & professional. We met at a local hotel, where he presented me with a fresh flower lay to start the tour off. Bottles of water were in the cooler box & we could help ourselves. He took us to many attractions & was very informative. We also went to a tea tasting shop. Lunch & beer were also provided. We would definitely recommend Obama as your tuk tuk tour guide!

Fantastic, we had a short walk to The Kingsbury hotel as there are many tuk Tuk drivers trying to get your business at the Port gate. We had a fantastic tour of Colombo our drivers were very knowledgeable and looked after us very well, we even went up close and personal to Elephants getting ready for a festival parade. At the end of our tour we stopped for dinner at a local street food vendor and again they were so hospitable. I highly recommend them.
