Time of arrival to salt mine was perfect, not very many people. Great tour with lots of interesting info about local history.
Gauge was beautiful, filled with all the colours of autumn. Walk was filled with spots that demanded pictures. Had sections of mild climbing along the gauge edge. Not difficult but best to have good footware.
Lunch was amazing. Local food and the guide was very helpful with choosing from the large menu and helping communicate. Great recommendations. The restaurant was also stunning. So nice someone was having wedding pictures taken.
Final stop was a beautiful village with more history of the area.
Overall an amazing day, with an amazing guide. Would highly recommend.

We had a great tour with Tudor. He was very knowledgeable, and took us to see things not many big companies would. The salt mine was a great experience and we had enough time to hire a boat. The riverside hike was a challenge at times but well worth the effort for the views at the end. We had a lovely meal in a traditional restaurant where Tudor gave us good recommendations. It was a very active and engaging tour which we thoroughly enjoyed, thank you!

We spent en entire day with Tudor, who was a fabulous guide. He was knowledgeable, patient and considerate toward every member of our party. The small size of the group made it possible to get to know one another along the way. Tudor was able to share insights and knowledge about each of our stops along the way. The tour was organized to enable us to experience a rich program with no lapses along the way...one experience moved seamlessly to the next. It was lovely to walk through the gorge and be in nature.

"We had a fantastic experience on this day tour! Our guide, Tordu (apologies if I’m spelling that wrong), was calm, knowledgeable, and incredibly well prepared. Everything went exactly as described, which made the whole day smooth and enjoyable.
We did the 5 km walk—out and back—which was just the right pace and length. Along the way, Tordu shared fascinating insights and even shared a delicious local treat when we reached the turnaround point.
The final stop at the monastery was so unique and full of character. It was the perfect ending to a memorable tour. Highly recommended!"

Tudor was an amazing guide. This was our favourite day in Cluj. BOOK THIS TRIP!
It’s not uphill or strenuous. My partner has never hiked and she already wants to do it again!
It’s absolutely breathtaking. You can also zipline from the top down into the Gorge for around £8, if not Tudor will drive you down with him to the starting point instead.
He provided walking sticks, chocolate bars and water. Was good craic and chatty knew so much, kept the group engaged with one another so the even the solo travellers were making friends.
We stopped half way to have drinks and share some snacks (you should bring some)
Each drive was around 20-30mins. With the drive home 1 hour. Tour was from 9-6pm
Turda salt mine, a great mine. Ours was included in the hike trip. The mine has a fairground and underground lake, you can hire boats to row around for about £5.
Remetea village, cute little village. Again included in our hike tour along with a Monastery down the road. Very cheap wine at about 50p a glass, we had a lunch stop here the restaurant had lots of options, took card payment and was very very cheap.
We are already planning a return to Cluj solely to try another one of Tudors day trips.

We visited Cluj in February, low season for tourism and cold wintery conditions. Tudor picked us up from the centre of Cluj and immediately gave us Romanian snacks and bottled water for the day as it was a busy one. We were the only 2 people which was actually great as we took the whole day at our own pace and spent as much/little time as we needed at each of the stops. 30 minute drive to the spectacular Salina Turda. Tudor took us round himself and was great with information and facts, before giving us some free time to explore the theme park activities and rowing boats on the underground salt lake (extra cost). Another 30 minute drive to the Turda Gorge for an epic 9km walk. We walked through the gorge and over the icy ground (Tudor provided crampons and walking poles which were both needed because of some frozen parts) before a decent uphill stretch to get beautiful views over the top of the gorge and surrounding areas. A final 30 minute drive to the traditional village of Rametea to see some of the wonderful architecture and a traditional meal in a local restaurant (extra cost). Goulash was the choice recommended to us, warming us up on a cold winter's day. A short stop on the drive home to a working monastery, built recently and hand-painted by the nuns before being dropped off back in the main square. All-in-all, a great day out despite the cold weather and it being quiet in the tourist areas. Tudor (Curly) is a knowledgeable, accommodating and hospitable guide, who doesn't just do these tours but also much more should you need anything extra during your time in Cluj. But this tour was great for our 3-day trip and helped us to see all of the main attractions in the area plus more. Thanks Tudor.

This was such an excellent tour with Tudor as the guide. Having his knowledge going through the Tudra Salt Mine was invaluable to help us really appreciate the mine. Two of the other stops (hiking and monestary) were off the normal tourist route, and were really beautiful. We even stopped for views of the gorge and my children got a chance to zipline, which was the highlight of their trip to Romania.
Tudor was extremely helpful and friendly the entire time and obviously loved his country and the nature he was showing us. We would highly recommend and would love to do a tour with him again!

This tour was an absolute highlight of my trip! If you're in Cluj for just a few days and want to experience a variety of attractions in a short time, this is the perfect choice. The itinerary was well-rounded, covering different aspects of the city and surroundings. The restaurant stop was fantastic, with excellent food. This was amazing tour. The mines were very futuristic, giving sci-fi. The hike in mountains were perfect length. The lunch in village after the hike and good caffeine boost from a local cafe shop was on point. And lastly I was amazed how beautiful was Rimetea monastery. The pick up was on time, the guide was amazing. Don’t hesitate to book this tour. You will be satisfied!

I wouldn’t have wanted to spend the day with anyone other than Tudor! He made this trip so fun and tailored it to what we wanted to do. I got to go on the little boat in the salt mine and even go on the zip line. The day was filled with adventure with our hike and after that some good lunch and dessert in a cute village. Definitely a great day.

We had only one other couple with us on the tour. It was designed specifically for us and it was incredible. Our guide was fabulous. He explained everything in detail nd we learned much about the history of the area. Our walk was pristine through meadows from one tiny village to another. We stopped for lunch after our hike in a gorgeous restaurant overlooking the mountains.
We couldn’t have asked for a better day. Wonderful and highly recommended.

This was an excellent trip taking in the Turda Salt Mine, the Turda Gorge and the Rimetea Village and Rimetea Monastry - perfect for anyone wanting to see a lot of things in the area around Cluj in a relatively short period of time. This was a small group (4 people) and Tudor was an excellent guide, who explained everything we saw and takes great pride in his city and country. The salt mine was an unique experience and the 90 minute hike in the gorge was breathtaking, but probably not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Would heartily recommend

Surprisingly my wife and I were the only ones for the tour and so had a very private one.
Our guide Tudor was top notch. A very safe driver, extremely knowledgeable and a sweet person to be with.
Took us for the hike in the gorge and very ably guided us through our journey.

I booked this tour in order to see the turda salt mines. It was definitely worthwhile. I didn’t know what to expect, but the salt mine was a lot bigger than I expected and there was a lot to see. After the salt mines, there were a few other places that I was taken to. The monastery that I was taken to as part of the tour was worthwhile. The inside of the church was beautifully painted and interesting in see. I got to try some local Romanian food. There was also a short hike, which didn’t take too long. It is worth doing the walk for the view at the top. The guide provided water and a walking stick. I saw there were several walking sticks in the car, so a larger group could be catered for. On my way back to Cluj-Napoca, I was chatting with the guide, and I was told of several different places that I could visit in the city. This was important, since I had another day in Cluj-Napoca, and I could have missed out on something just by not knowing about it.

Wow! What a unique experience. I loved the variety of this tour - from a visit to a salt mine to a hike through a gorge to the small village of Rimetia to a monastery, this tour had it all! It is hard to say what part I loved most because each part was so different yet all were equally as enjoyable. And best of all, we had a tour guide who was so knowledgeable, energetic and fun to be around. He had extensive knowledge of Salina Turda and led us through at just the perfect pace. We had “free” time at the base of the mine and had enough time to rent a little row boat and paddle around the lake! The hike over the mountain and through the gorge was great fun. Tudor went at our pace and obviously loves being outdoors. When we finished the hike we toured a beautiful monastery and also the village of Rimetea which is a Unesco World Heritage site.
