This was a really fantastic tour, it felt authentic without being overly touristy. We saw a few beautiful sites in the Maramureş and Geta was incredibly knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. It was a long drive but the landscapes were well worth it. Lunch was a particular highlight, absolutely delicious and they catered for vegans. I would highly recommend this tour!

Absolutely incredible experience that was enhanced by our tour guide, Geta! We loved reflecting in the beauty of the wooden churches and learning about the meaning of the interiors. The Merry Cemetery did not disappoint. And the star of the show was our stroll through a village in Maramureș where we had lunch with a local. This was incredibly memorable and I highly recommend this to anyone hoping to learn more about the history and true culture of Romania.

I had very spevic interests and Geta my guide was willing to accommodate them all. She put in a long hard day of mountainous driving and got me to every wooden church with interesting art. She is knowledgeable speaks flawless English and was willing to discuss a wide range of topics with me on the long drive. She deepened my understanding of Romania in many ways

It was a long day( 14hrs) , but that said ,we saw 2 x old wooden churches, had a traditional experience, in a small village ( including lunch) & visited the Merry cemetery. The guide was informative & seem to have all the contacts wherever we went. Regular stops on route for coffee or toilets. Nothing was too much trouble for her ( Gita). The transport( mini van was comfortable & her driving was excellent.

Our tour guide Geta was on time and she was a confident driver. Also, she is professional, knowledgeable, nice and patient person. We visited all places in our programme and thanks to a very small group (only 2 people) Geta managed to squeeze a few surprises for us. We were impressed about wood churches, their construction and inside decor. It was great to drive and walk through small villages of Maramures and stop there for a lunch in a house of a local family. The food was incredible taste and fresh, also local drinks 'powerful'. Our last stop The Merry Cemetery was a cherry on our cake! The cemetery was very interesting, colourful and Geta explained us the meaning of some of the stories described on graves. Life time experience. Overall it was a wonderful day, beautiful places, professional guidance and the tour is worth any penny. Strongly recommend.

This was a wonderful tour of Maramures, and full of very interesting sites. Geta was a fantastic guide who is very knowledgable in many areas and is happy to answer questions and make sure you are getting the most out of the experience. I learned so much about the history, sites, and Romanian culture in general. It was a great experience and made my trip in Romania so much more interesting.

Traveling to Maramures would not have been the same if we had tried to go on our own. Geta was truly an unbelievable guide, interpreter, and companion on this amazing day. She picked us up promptly and catered to us. Geta shared her stories and gave us incredible insights into the people of the region and of her great country. The three of us all determined that this tour was the highlight of our two weeks in Romania. Geta is so real and smart and gracious. I hope our paths cross again as you don't often meet people like Geta.

Since we were the only tourists (late April is not a high tourist season) it was more a private tour rather than a small group tour. As expected wooden churches looked nice outside and had impressive naive paintings inside. Unexpected were beautifully carved gates and barn doors in the local village. Traveling on Sunday had its own benefits: we were lucky to see local people attending Orthodox church dressed in their traditional clothes (flowery short skirts, furry vests and high heels - that was quite a view). Add sunny day, numerous blossoming cherry trees, tasty lunch, knowledgeable guide and quite good roads and You have a perfect one (long) day tour.

It was my best excursion of any country. The Maramures region is a must see. But what makes this exceptional experience is the guide I had. The information it gives us is very relevant. It took us to meet the local people in a unique way. We met the carpenter who makes the traditional roof shingles. We see him working before our eyes. She then takes us to eat a typical Romanian meal at the best cook in the village.
Throughout the day, we have no feeling that there is a schedule. We have time to enjoy the place, take pictures. We also end the day with locals to see a lady making a traditional carpet. For me, this day will remain sincerely etched in my memory
