Itinerary

Meet your guide and group of 10 people or fewer inside the old city on the moat road to the east of Chiang Mai Gate. Arrive at 5:45 p.m. for a bike and helmet fitting, then pedal off at 6 p.m., bound for the old city’s eastern gate. Stop at Tha Phae, once an entrance to visiting traders, now beautifully restored and a great place to stop for a bit of history.

Cycle on to Wat Intakhin to see the centuries-old white Buddha and the Three Kings Monument, where you will listen to your guide talk about the founding of Chiang Mai. Once you reach the city moat, leave your bikes behind and walk across to Wat Lok Molee to check out the wooden prayer hall, and maybe even hear some chanting monks.

Bike on to the city’s most famous monument, the Wat Chedi Luang, home to the City Pillar and three good-luck Dipterocarp trees. The tour’s last stop is the night markets of Chiang Mai, where you will sample some street food and sip a drink with your guide. Finish up around 10 p.m.

We loved our experience. Our guide Pham (spelling?) was amazing. Knowledge and friendly and interested in getting to know us. I thought the best guide we’ve had in Thailand on this trip. All the stops were great and these were some of our favorite temples we’ve seen. Great food too! Would definitely recommend this tour.

Tou is the greatest.

I lucked out. This particular night, I was the only person who booked the tour. So I basically had a private tour guide for the price of a group tour. The guide was great. Tou (pronounced Too) made up a custom route just for the two of us. He showed me all of Chiang Mai in a few hours. We had dinner at a real local part of town. When I was done, I felt like I really saw it all and had a great time while doing it.

We had James as our guide. He knew so much history not only about the places we went but the history of Thailand as a country. He was extremely informative. He also took us to a food market where we sampled various grilled skewers and a bit of rice whiskey, which actually was pretty good. James knew all the little back roads and walkways where we rode through town. It was a very nice way to see the town in a more relaxed and quiet manner. The actual bike riding was very easy; if you know how to ride a bike, you can do this tour.

Was a great experience! Dan(Don) was very chill and most importantly very good with directions. I felt entirely safe. Cause when arriving to Chiang Mai at first the traffic can be a bit surprising. Though no worries cause during the evening it’s a lot better/less hectic and there’s really absolutely nothing to worry about. It’s a lovely activity after the days hot weather and also you get to see streets you would otherwise not wonder around. It was well spent time with good company. I would recommend this to everyone and even those who don’t go biking often.

The tour was interesting and fun. We enjoyed learning about Buddhist culture and the different temples, and Mr T was a great tour guide. The bike riding was a fun way to get around and see the city.

Gun, our guide, made the whole experience fun and informative. He spoke with enthusiasm throughout the whole 3 hours and we laughed lots. We learnt so much history about Thailand and the Lanna kingdom which was all very interesting. We enjoyed the pace of the cycling around. It was the right amount of time! A great way to spend an evening!
