A very informative, but friendly tour of a very pretty town. It was great the way that Mark interjected a personal touch to his commentary. The tour was set at a comfortable pace and stopped at all the main points of interest with interesting & fun stories. We had a great morning in Charlottetown and enjoyed an amazing Lobster roll too!!

This was a great tour with a fantastic guide. Our guide was a local with many generations of his family that has lived here so he had fun and great insights to share with us. We didn't go very far so our group continued on with a longer walk/hike after the tour was over but the information shared was fantastic.

This walking tour...

This walking tour presents the opportunity to not only see historical, cultural, interesting, and picturesque sites but also educates about the establishment and development of Charlottetown and Prince Edward Island. The tour was well paced. Even though I am in my late 70's, the walk was totally enjoyable with frequent stops and explanations along the way. Only one short walk was uphill with the majority of the route on fairly level ground. Our tour guide Mark was superb. He was extremely knowledgeable, informative, and personable. A longtime resident of Charlottetown and PEI, his personal perspective was interesting and entertaining. Our tour was enhanced by the beautiful October weather and the city's novel, festive, and comical fall decorations.

Lovely way to spend a morning

Easy and inviting walk

Stephen_L, Oct 2025
A great value our guide was clear, relaxed, very knowledgeable and funny. The tour made one appreciate the city and culture. It was not “made up” or a Wikipedia reading

Walking Tour didn't have enough walking.

Cindy_H, Oct 2025
Carolyn was very nice and knowledgeable but the tour had too much information and not enough movement. A high level bit of history about PEI would have been sufficient and no more than 5-10 minutes talking at any one spot. We didn't leave the waterfront for the first hour and only moved twice. We would have liked to have walked more in the town and found out more about the buildings and other monuments.

Thank you very much for coming on the Tour and for your feedback, I will look into this as you should of been further in the Tour , the first stop is the longest but not that long but maybe there was a reason it took longer but I will look into it , thanks again for your feedback and I do apologize for the inconvenience- Josh

Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, warm and friendly. We learned a remarkable amount of history and got our steps in! Only recommendation would be that she needs a microphone. It was very difficult at times to hear her over the noise of the city. But i still recommend it!

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Thank you very much for your feedback and for coming on the Tour . I have been looking into getting some mics for the larger groups . Josh

Great historical walking tour

Franis_A, Oct 2025
Carolyn covered a great deal of history of Charlottetown, PEI and Canada, as well as showed us the sights of Charlottetown in a very engaging manner. We very much enjoyed the tour.

Pleasant town

Rwlpap, Oct 2025
There's not a great deal to see in the town but the history is interesting and the walk along the shore is nice

Knowledgeable local guide

Vicki_G, Oct 2025
Our guide was very knowledgeable. He was new to being a tour guide and will develop into an excellent walking tour guide. Two suggestions … 1) Provide opportunities for short sitting breaks. (There WERE some places where we could have had a short sitting break while he talked. However we weren’t invited to do so.) 2) Make the tour a bit more interactive. (We were a small group of just 10 people. However Ken just kept feeding us information as quickly as possible in a lecture style.) All that said, we learned a lot about Charlottetown and were glad we did the tour. Key point … Ken has been a resident there his whole life and his roots go way back there. He had an interesting point of view to share.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Thank you very much for your feedback and suggestions , we take all feedback into consideration. Thanks again for joining the Tour and I hope you only the rest of your Trip - Josh

Great intro to Charlottetown.

Sandra_H, Sep 2025
Empty your brain before this excursion as it will be filled with facts about Charlottetown and its history, growth, and development. Very interesting tour. My only recommendation is not to spend a half hour in one location. Even if we move only 100 feet up the street or walkway it will give us a chance to move and not remain standing for extended periods.

Great walking tour

Lots of walking. Great guide. She was multi generation family resident who knew lots of history about the origin of the island and its people.

Emphasis on historical

Our guide was very friendly and very informed about the early history of PEI and was open to answering all of our questions. She had lots of funny and interesting stories about Charlottetown’s history as well as good information for us about present day. We very much enjoyed this tour!

Great walking tour!

Tour given by a Charlottetown native! Full of first hand knowledge and stories of the area! Delightful guide!

Exceptional walking tour

Lois_B, Sep 2025
This was an extremely enjoyable and easily walkable tour through the beautiful streets of Charlottetown/PEI. Ken was our tour guide and he was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the province. He is a lifelong resident of the area and his parents are original settlers so his love for the province is very evident. The tour allows for several stopping points along the way. Ken shared some personal stories of his life here on PEI, and the stories added a humorous, enjoyable twist to the historical information be shared about the area. I would recommend this walking tour for anyone visiting in the area who wants to be enlightened on the historical background of the settlement and development of Charlottetown and PEI.

Informative and interesting tour hosted by PEI native Mark, who shared his historic knowledge about PEI in general and also of specific sites on our walking tour of Charlottetown. Totally worth our time, glad we did it!

Charlottetown Walking Tour

Janet_O, Sep 2025
Our tour guide, Ken, was absolutely the best. He was born and raised on Prince Edward Island and he could trace generations of his family to when they first arrived. He had the best stories as we walked around Charlottetown. He walked at a good pace, and we stopped a lot to listen to his descriptions of places. He certainly knows his history of the city! He is a hidden gem.

Very informative & well timed Josh is a wealth a of knowledge and so proud of his past. Easy to book and access tickets

Tour given by a local Islander

Richard_G, Sep 2025
Ken was a friendly knowledgeable guide. The tour took two hours and Ken gave a wonderful personal touch being a 8 generation PEI islander.

Very informative historical Two-hour tour

Michael_O, Sep 2025
Ken did a great job today, we learned so much about the development of this island, and Charlottetown. It was great to have the tour given by someone who has lived here for many years and added in some really interesting things have occurred here that aren’t in the history books.
