Overview

Capital of adventure in France, Chamonix is one of the epicentres of paragliding in Europe. Disappointing

Really underwhelming, was well organised and take off was really cool but then it seemed like a set circuit, we took off early but still only did 15 mins, when I asked about this Alain said later slots get longer flights but this made no sense, the conditions were perfect. Would have loved to try steering or do a spin, asked if we could get closer to Mont Blanc but was told we weren’t allowed. Overall it felt like the minimum requirement to deliver. I appreciate a lot of the paragliders you see up there are independent fliers and not tourist tandems but this didn’t hold up to other reviews I’ve read or experiences I heard about.

Très chère Lyndsay, c'est avec beaucoup de tristesse que je lis votre commentaire. Les vols en parapente dépendent de la météo, nous ne pouvons pas faire sortir le soleil des nuages ni faire tourner les aiguilles des horloges. Concernant le Mont-Blanc, la réglementation aérienne nous interdit de voler de ce côté du massif du Mont-Blanc pour permettre le sauvetage des alpinistes avec l'hélicoptère (https://federation.ffvl.fr/actu/r-glementation-vol-libre-dans-massif-mont-blanc). Comme il est noté dans le descriptif des vols, un vol découverte reste un vol découverte, nous proposons des vols longue durée (prix différent) et des vols freestyle (prix plus élevé). Alain est un pilote formidable, très prévenant et a rendu votre expérience comme toutes celles qu'il pratique depuis plus de 30 ans. Heureusement qu'il n'a pas fait de vrille, vous avez trouvé le vol court... il en aurait été bien plus encore. Encore une fois, je suis vraiment triste pour votre ressenti, mais j'espère quand même que vous avez passé de bonnes vacances à Chamonix. Merci de m'avoir permis, pour les voyageurs suivants, quelques explications supplémentaires. Amicalement, Xavier

First time paraglider, great time

As a first time paraglider Xavier was very helpful in guiding me on what to do during the flight. He speaks English and will also offer go pro pictures and footage for €30.
