  • Plan for a visit of at least three hours—most visitors dedicate a day to include a mountain lunch, too.

  • Tickets can be bought from the lift station or online, although it’s recommended to book in advance. Note that online bookings can’t be changed or refunded.

  • Lines often form for the Step Into the Void. Aim to visit this first to avoid missing out.

  • The Aiguille du Midi cable car isn’t recommended for travelers with heart problems or children aged between three to five—and children under three years old aren’t allowed on the lift at all.

  • Weather changes quickly at the summit. Whenever you visit, bring a waterproof jacket, long trousers, sunglasses, and sun lotion.

  • There’s space for two wheelchairs in each cable car plus wheelchair-access to the elevator at Step Into the Void. The summit restaurant is not wheelchair-accessible.
