Overview

Embark on a transfer to the Atlantis Dunes and upon arrival, the on-site instructors will help you get acclimated to your board and provide a basic tutorial to help you gracefully glide down the sandy slopes. Before you know you’ll be carving your way down the steep surface of these picturesque sand dunes. While you’re boarding feel free to enjoy some included drinks and snacks. At the end of your trip, you’ll be dropped off back at your Cape Town hotel.

We can pickup from any hotel, guesthouse, backpackers or street address within 10km radius of City Centre. We will confirm your exact pickup time with you the day before your trip. Pickup times are normally around 1 hour prior to activity start time.

What To Expect

Choose between a morning or afternoon pickup from your central Cape Town hotel and then transfer to the Atlantis Dunes.

When you arrive, the on-site instructors will help you get acclimated to your board and provide a basic tutorial to help you gracefully glide down the sandy slopes. Before you know you’ll be carving your way down the steep surface of these picturesque sand dunes. While you’re boarding feel free to enjoy some included drinks and snacks.

At the end of your trip, you’ll be dropped off back at your Cape Town hotel.

Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level
Average fitness level required - A lot of of walking is involved.
Wear comfortable clothes, closed shoes, long thick socks, sunblock, hat, sunglasses, warm jacket in winter (dress warm in winter and bring a windbreaker/rain jacket). Bring water (min 1L pp). It is important to stay hydrate, especially in summer when it gets really hot at and on the dunes.

Subject to favorable weather conditions. If cancelled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or refund.
Minimum age is 4 years.
Children between 4 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
This trip requires a minimum number of guests/travellers in order to operate. If the tour is cancelled because the minimum requirement was not reached, you will be offered a different date or a full refund.
The start time is subject to change and may at times run as a later morning or afternoon trip.

A really great experience

A great half day out, no previous experience necessary. All the equipment you need is supplied, simply turn up, and get started. Was surprisingly faster than we imagined, but also surprisingly easy to pick up (no previous snowboarding or sandboarding experience needed).
