Great experience in Langa

Deborah_B, Jun 2022
This was an interesting surprise…a gift. We booked expecting to go hear music and maybe play a drum. But WOW! We booked this along with a jewelry making class and ended up spending an immersive afternoon in the township of Langa with our guide, Songs. We went to the township cultural center and had a drumming lesson—so fun — and we’re able to buy some local handicrafts. We then went to the home of Henry who played many instruments. He is a musician and teacher and was joined initially by one of his students. We were invited to join in with some instruments and my granddaughter was given some instructions so she could really join in. The fun was when the neighbors and children dropped in and joined the singing and playing. Everyone was so open and friendly. What a blast! Everyone should spend an afternoon in the township to begin to understand the history and culture of this region of the world
