You get to see a lot of animals in a short time .

It's a lot of travel in a mini bus but is worth the travel as you get
a taste of a safari and the opportunity to see some of South Africa.
The lodge is very comfortable, the food is great and they have great
guides. It would be nice to have more time to enjoy the lodge but
the trip is very well organised.

We weren’t sure what to expect and were pleasantly surprised by how well run and comfortable the lodge was. We were very happy with our chalet. The restaurant while a bit slow offered wonderful tasty food selections. Our guide was very informative, experienced and humorous. What a wonderful experience!!

Overall a fantastic experience. There is a lot of travel involved with limited time at the game reserve. Was able to get up close with all the animals and take some great photos. Guides were great and very knowledgeable thanks to Janco and Vaaughan.

Our tour guide Vaughan was excellent, kept us safe on the long drive and entertained. The Accommodation and food were fantastic. The Safari drives are small and felt more like an open zoo, but was enjoyable. The only thing with the 2 day tour is it’s not long enough to enjoy the lodge so if you have time , stay longer. But overall a fantastic tour for people short on time .

This tour covers a lot of ground. It’s well worth it, but can be a little taxing. The safari lodge is amazing.

Driver was great. Made the driving palatable but the safari was pretty much a zoo on steroids. Just OO bug nothing I would tell anyone is a must see.

Vaugh was knowledgeable outgoing considerate and has a good sense of humour. He provided all the good tips for us when we were on this tour. The stay on the game lodge was lovely!!! Food was good and they even have an infinity pool there!! Of course we also got to see all the animals on our list while we were there. Abe knows his way around the game lodge and was always able to locate them stunning animals and found the best spot for us to see them.

The whole trip was more than I expected. Vaughan was an amazing guide. The game lodge was beautiful and the food was excellent. On the way to the camp, Vaughan took the group to a great farm stand and we visited the southern point of Africa. On the way back to Cape Town, we visited the whale watching town of Hermanus for lunch. Then a quick stop to visit the penguins. It was an experience of a life time.

This was a wonderful preserve for a safari, we had a sunset and sunrise drive. We saw cheetahs, lions, hippos, rhinos, giraffes, buffalo, absolutely wonderful. Chris was a wonderful guide. We loved the penguin and whale watching stop and especially loved the scenic drive by the coast, stunning.

Vaughn was knowledgeable, friendly and a safe driver. A wonderful tour of some of the sights away from Cape Town. At the game lodge our guide was a good spotter and knew where to look.

Chris was our guide and he created an experience of a lifetime for us. He was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot about Cape Town and the general area. We learned a lot from him and he went out of his way to do things for us. The lodge was beautiful and the whole trip was amazing Mostly because Chris was such a good guide and was very friendly and easy to be around. I recommend a trip to everyone who is thinking of visiting a private national reserve.

The road trip to and from the destination is many hours, even with frequent stops, the trip was too long.
Since I have been on a real safari, I did not find this trip that rewarding, but for a novice, it might be interesting
The driver, Chris, was knowledgeable, affable, considerate and a very good driver as was our guide, Andre.
The accommodations and the staff at the lodge were quite good.

Gareth arranged an epic experience! The Game reserve is top shelf! Super knowledgeable guides. Learned so much about the animals and conservation. The lodge is five stars. Chalets were exquisite. Views epic. I’d recommend staying two nights! The food is superb! Our group was from around the world and we enjoyed dining together in the lodge with the fire roaring and bottles of wine and steak. Two drives. Saw four of the big five. Drive back we stopped for a walk about at Hermanus which was posh. Then an epic photographers’ delight of a drive down Clarence drive and a penguin colony. So very highly recommend this trip!! Great value but most importantly sparkling memories and thoughtful planning by Gareth!

Our tour guide Chris really made this experience exceptional. He picked us up early the first morning and the three of us were part of a group of nine. A nice comfortable size. On our way to the Garden Route game lodge, we made a stop at Cape Agulhas, which is where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean. The views along the way were spectacular. Late afternoon, we arrived at the lodge and had a couple of hours to ourselves before the first safari in the evening. A guide from the lodge was assigned to us and she was also exceptional. She was our guide for the next morning’s safari too. I cannot rave enough about how wonderful our experience was. We saw cheetahs, elephants, white, rhinos, hippopotamus, all kinds of antelope, a pride of lions, Cape Buffalo, wildebeest, and other small mammals and birds. IlOur stay at the lodge was in a lovely little chalet, and it included both dinner and breakfast. The service staff there were wonderful and really made this a special experience. I wish we could’ve stayed an additional day! On the way back, Chris was again an fantastic guide, giving us all kinds of information on our drive back to Cape Town. Along the way we stopped at several scenic points, including a one hour stop at Hermanus for lunch. On our way back to Cape Town, we stopped at Betty’s Bay to hang out with penguins at the Penguin colony, awesome! I am absolutely amazed at how much we covered in our two days days together. If you have a short time in Cape Town and you’re looking to get the best of the countryside as well as wildlife, this is the way to go.

This was an excellent experience! Chris from Bokbus was our tour guide and he was superb! Cape Agulhas, Garden Route Lodge, 2 safari game drives, Hermanus whale watching (we saw them), and Betty’s Bay African Penguin Colony were stunning! We packed so much into 2 wonderfully memorable days! Sune our game drive leader at the Garden Route Game Lodge was awesome! I HIGHLY recommend!!

The drive was long but worth it. The coast and inland was beautiful. Our driver was safe and knowledgeable. The lodge was excellent. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable. We saw tons of animals.

I booked this experience many months in advance, only to receive a last-minute message—less than 24 hours before check-in—informing me that it was cancelled. No real support, no proper communication, just a cancellation with no explanation.
After hours of back-and-forth via WhatsApp, I finally got some clarity: they had oversold reserved rooms due to their own mistake. Despite this, there was barely any genuine apology or concern. They did offer another date, but due to other tours already being booked, this wasn’t an option for us. Eventually, after much effort on my part, they offered alternative accommodation at a different “hotel” down the road—which was truly awful. Compensation? A measly ~13% refund, which I had to chase up myself the next day.
Since this was for a special birthday and had been planned for so long, we had little choice but to accept. Waking up in a budget hotel 15 minutes away instead of the luxury lodge we had envisioned completely dampened the experience.
That being said, the lodge itself is fantastic, and I highly recommend it—but do yourself a favour and book directly or through a more reliable platform.
The one saving grace? Our guide and driver, Benji, who was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. Huge thanks to him for making the best out of a bad situation!

Fantastic tour with the best guide, Mawanda (I know this is not the correct spelling, my apology). He was kind, very informative of the areas we visited and history in general. It was nice having him for picture taking as well.
The stops we had were as advertised (Betty’s Bay, Hermanus, Cape Agulhas) and taken to the best areas for our meal & restroom breaks.
The Garden Route Safari was a 10/10 for the experience and accommodations.

The trip was amazing and really made better by our guide Benjamin. He was really friendly and informative, and he went above and beyond to give us the best experience and show us the country that he calls home. In terms of the actual safari, we saw lots of animals and had a great time! Could not recommend this tour any more!

Amazing trip! Road trip with some nice stops to get local food. On the road we already saw some bonobo's, falcons, blue cranes and many more. The safari was just marvelous, seen the big 5, with a short stop to get a drink in nature at sunset. Next morning waking up with elephants in the middle of nowhere. The lodge was superb, and there was even an infinity pool. Very friendly and funny guide on our way there, and the rangers were very friendly and had tons of expertise. A 5* experience for me!

A fabulous experience. Our driver/guide Vaughan was great. Very friendly, very knowledgeable and very organised. Additions to the trip were a surprise, the most southerly point of Africa and the whale route where we saw the African penguins. I think these should be added to the itinerary so that you don’t double up when booking trips. We’d seen the penguins at Boulders beach during another Viator trip, but loved seeing them again in a slightly different environment

I, honestly, don't know where to start...
Chris was not only our driver, but an awesome guide. He took us to so many great spots on the way to our final destination with really good food!!
Once we got to the game lodge, we were welcomed by the friendly staff and went to our chalet which was perfect.
Our game guide, Hanns, was very knowledgeable. He knew exactly which spots to take us to get the best experience.
The foods were so full of flavor.
100% when we come back, we're going to do this trip again.

From start to finish, what a fantastic packed two days!
Benjamin the driver/guide from Bokbus was an absolute gentleman and missed nothing: bravo!
Stops were frequent and pertinent as we visited many interesting places en route to and from the lodge.
The lodge is fantastic to be fair. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate.
The huts are well equipped and quite cute to be fair.
The two pools are clean and very inviting.
Food and service is second to none and the dining hall is a really nice surrounding.
The two drives with Zandre were incredible as we saw absolutely everything you could hope for and his educated updates were relevant and appreciated.
The journey each way is really long but bareable due to Benjamin’s itinerary to be fair.
All round, well worth the time and money. Thanks!
