This is a fun experience for one night if you can’t make it to a proper safari while in Africa. I recommend booking directly with Inverdoorn, rather than through Viator or a tour company. The tour company that I got through Viator charged significantly more than this should have cost, booked me in a terrible room, and wasn’t responsive or helpful. Inverdoorn’s staff told me that this is a common problem.

That said, the higher rate charged through Viator largely comes down to the fact that our packages include return transport between Cape Town and the lodge, which many guests don’t always factor into the total cost when comparing prices. We’re sorry to hear you ended up in a room that didn’t meet your expectations. Just to clarify, this package is based on our standard rooms as per the itinerary. Many guests assume they are getting a luxury room upgrade, but that is not included in this specific package. Excellent accommodation, everybody was very pleasant and kind, we saw 4 of the big five. Our guide, Prosper was very informative and nice to be around. It would be better to visit during warmer months, but nevertheless everything was perfect.
