Our tour guide - Yami was wonderful. She had detailed knowledge about this very interesting cemetery. We learned so much and could have spent even more time in this special place. I was able to finally pay my respect to Eva Duarte Peron - "Evita" which has long been a bucket list item.

Juan Manuel was so knowledgeable, kept things moving along with structure but also allowed for wondering around and adjusting the itinerary..it was exciting to see so much history and things I hadn’t read about.

We had a great tour of the cemetery with our guide Yami! We learned a lot of history about Buenos Aires and Yami gave personal family stories. We highly recommend this tour.

A don’t miss in Buenos Aires. It’s not just a cemetery… it’s a history tour of BA. Our guide was friendly, professional and knowledgeable.

I took the Private Recoleta Walking guided Tour with Cemetery and Evita last Sunday. Juan Miguel was a very good tour guide but told too many "ghost" stories. I would have preferred more Fact based stories. My concierge had advised me against a cemetery tour saying that you heard the same stories in every cemetery in Argentina. He told the story she referenced.
I picked this tour in an attempt to avoid since it stated that it was a "PRIVATE" tour. I was also not allowed to book this tour as ONE person. I had to pay for TWO as is typical with most PRIVATE tours on Viator. I invited someone I met on another rour since I paid had been forced to pay for 2.
We arrived early due to a lack of traffic on Sunday. The tour guide had proactively provided the meeting point and his WhatsApp in advance. We texted him, that we were there 20 minutes early and hoped to start earlier due to the extreme heat. He met us but explained we had to wait for another couple. What??? It's a private tour. He said that in Argentina, PRIVATE means SMALL GROUP. What???? He called his office and they reiterated what he said.
The other couple arrived. She had a cane and slowed our tour down. The husband wandered off and we had to wait. The exact reason I purchased the most expensive Recoleta tour because I wanted it at my pace.
The other 3 stops were non events. It says admission/entry included but they are free.
It was not Juan Miguel fault that the listing in Viator misrepresents the tour. It should be called SMALL GROUP TOUR Of Recoleta Cementary with Evita. This would be more accurate description!

Thank you for your comment.
We do not understand your complaint, as the tour was carried out in a timely manner, the tour included entrance tickets to the cemetery which the passengers used and entered. To enter the cemetery all foreigners must pay an entrance fee. So what you say is free, is totally wrong.
The cemetery only admits tours guided by official guides of the City of Buenos Aires, no foreigner can enter for free and no guided tours can be given without paying the entrance fees and registering beforehand.
It is a classic walking tour that we do every week, it is a tour to visualize, know and admire the particularities of the cemetery. The passengers had a tour of more than an hour in the cemetery, visiting the most emblematic tombs and monuments. As for the ghost stories, the most classic stories are always mentioned, visiting tombs of different classic and not so classic personalities. They ended the tour about 15/10mins early because they were too hot. But the tour was fully realised visiting both the Cemetery and the highlights of the Recoleta neighbourhood.
As for the value is what you accepted and paid, no one forced you to pay any extra for the tickets or any other service.
Please note that when you purchase the service through another means and not directly with the agency, you pay service fees, taxes and other values that we did not receive.
The tour was completed in time and form, the services were provided, no reimbursement is due.
As for private, what is meant is that it is not a tour that passengers can hire on the street or join at the time of the tour or that admits passengers without registration.

The guide was nice but had her own agenda and her English was mediocre.. she could recite the history but had trouble understanding and answering our questions.

Thank you very much for your time and comments.
We will take your comments into account in order to improve it.
Elizabeth, the tour guide, is certified by the Ente de Turismo de Buenos Aires to give tours in English, Portuguese, Spanish and Japanese.
As all our guides are certified and authorized by the ENTE DE TURISMO DE BUENOS AIRES. Thanks a lot and we are at your service at any time here in ARGENTINA.

We could hardly understand the guide. She should not be giving tours in English. She is a sweet person but we needed someone who is understandable

Good day, thank you for your comment.
First of all we regret that you are not satisfied with your tour.
We would like to inform you that all our guides are certified and authorized by the Ministry of Tourism of the Argentine Republic and the Government of the City of Buenos Aires.
They are not native guides obviously, since they are Argentinean guides with wide knowledge of the city. Particularly Ana, your guide is a certified guide who has taken the First Certificate and the TOEFL, and has a high level of English.
She offers many tours and has never had this kind of problem with any passenger, on the contrary, she has always been very satisfied.
Ana has conversations with Americans who work at the U.S. embassy and she also does translations from English to Spanish and vice versa.
She is even part of a project organized by Australian businessmen.
Her English level could not be the best, due to the speed, or maybe I don't remember a specific word, so I describe what I have to say. Their grammar is very, very good, I would like them to listen to the message, to talk to me or even to ask my teachers.
We are more than sure that Ana has a high level to offer this kind of tours.
We are completely sure that neither ANA nor our tour deserves that kind of comment, much less the 1 star rating. Since the tour was offered in a complete way, with the duration and the complete tour.
In fact, the tour lasted a few minutes longer, since due to traffic, Ana started the tour about 10 minutes past 200pm.
If you want more information we have the permits, certificates and also your guide card of the city where you can see that is enabled to provide tours in English as well as Spanish and Portuguese.
Please would you be so kind to review your comment and change it
Thank you for your visit and your time.
