Awesome historical education on the history of chocolate from South America to present day. Do not pass up the free samples

A great experience overall. A lot of history and you will learn a lot. The chocolate tasting is delicious. The short videos were informative. We came in at the end of the cooking demonstration but what we saw was cool, unfortunately he wasn't speaking English so we didn't know what he was saying.

Very informative and well set out tour. My wife is a huge chocolate fan so she took me along with her. My favorite part of all of this was the interactive games…I had fun.

The audio guide is a great way to learn more in the museum, however mine only worked OK the fact placards and didn't work on any of the activity centers. You get 2 chocolate tastes- dark or milk chocolate barrels. If you attend a chocolate demonstration you will get a third tasting. I walked slow and whole museum took 45 minutes. If you have spare time to go, it had interesting points, but otherwise your time is better spent exploring Brussels

Way more informative than I'd imagined! Cute museum, love that you can move at your own pace. We all had a great time and the chocolate samples were sooo good!

It was a great walkthrough tour with a provided translation device. The chocolate tier maker was only 10 minutes with pre-made mold and fillings. He appeared irritated and said his English is not well. It is a good tour for history independently as a tourist.

Audio guide given but personally found it long winded. Would suit someone who likes lots of history. Lots of chocolate to try and the demonstration was also good.
Hannah_G, Dec 2025
i was just an audio tour if youre into that. only a few tasting options. if youre into the history of chocolate there is a LOT of info about that too
Scott_M, Jul 2025
Quality facts. Loved the lesson and samples. Many of the games did not work. So that was a bummer but we made it all the same. Not to mention 49 scanner did not work.

The history of chocolate and many interesting facts are presented. Chocolate consumption had social significance and was a refined manner. Maybe the fact that it's now available to everyone makes us underestimate it a bit, but here's a good example of how it's good to appreciate everything in our lives.

Fantastic hands on experience, audio guide gave so much great information. Icing on the cake was the amazing demonstration by the chocolatier. Samples available by the bucketful

Nice, short and Sweet
Interesting, easy and entertaining.
No wow factor.
The exhibition is a bit outdated, but it met my expectations.
Fairly priced

Very good presentation, with a cooking demo and tasting to end it.
The only problem is that the staff allows too many people in the cramped exhibit rooms at any one time. It was difficult to access the code bars’readers.
Arun_K, Jul 2024
It’s just about the history of how chocolates reached Belgium and how they advertised it into products. Nothing great enough to see here.
Nidhi_N, May 2024
Worth a visit. Lots to learn about chocolate. A chocolate lover will fall in love all over again …………
Barbara_O, Apr 2024
The history of chocolate is so interesting! The artifacts are beautiful. The whole experience kept us entertained.

Great experience! Chocolate tasting and demonstration the highlight. Good value for money in brussels too!
Valerie_M, Dec 2023
We were in the first time slot of the day and were not told that the chocolate making demonstration started at 11:00. As a consequence we only saw the last few minutes and would have had to wait 45 mins for the next slot. I would suggest that you inform customers of the start times and that the first demonstration should not start until 11:15.

Exhibits were very nicely done. Audio guides were easy to use. There's a bonus virtual reality exhibit that explains the story of cocoa (costs an extra 5 euro). My only disappointment is that the summary sounded as if there would be multiple candy-making demonstrations, but there was only one.

Entertaining and informative with samples and demonstration. Audio descriptions along the way. Good for families.
Adesewa_A, Aug 2023
Unique tour experience. Loved the short film and chocolate demonstration and taste session. Better if we could make chocolate ourselves and the gift shop had more options.
Jeremy_F, Jul 2023
Above average historical view of chocolate. Solid choice if you're looking for things to do in Brussels. The praline making demo and sample at the end was very worth it. If possible, try and see before you start what time the Praline demos begin, so you can see it from the beginning.
Belinda_L, Jul 2023
Rich history and detailed process learning of how cocoa turns into chocolate! Check in was easy like a breeze. Museum can also be easily located via google map!
Sahil_N, Jun 2023
It was a nice experience to understand the history of chocolates. Too technical in some parts. But there was a live chocolate making as well and the chef was interesting.
Janae_L, May 2023
This was a fantastic tour with audio recorder to tell us about everything in our own requested language. I really enjoyed being able to listen to the audio and hear the stories related to all the chocolate historical artifacts. The chocolate tasting room was simple, but gave 5 types of chocolate to taste and compare with the different ways it was created. And lastly, there was a fabulous chocolate truffle making demonstration to teach people how to make truffles at home that was well worth sitting and watching for 20 minutes. This was an excellent experience, especially for the low cost.

Really enjoyable, as informative as you want it to be, lots of interactive material throughout - as well as the samples! Pencil in at least an hour for the visit, later in the day seemed to be quieter.
Olorunshola_A, Apr 2023
It's a child-friendly experience and worth the money. My children enjoyed the museum. I am highly recommending this.
Sloane_B, Mar 2023
Highly informative and interactive (i.e., not your typical museum where you walk from one exhibit to another to simple read off a placard. Recommend to anyone interested in chocolate. Also, good for all ages.
Kamel_J, Mar 2023
Very interesting experience to see the history of chocolate. You also get a chance to taste chocolate too!
Kim_P, Feb 2023
The receptionist let us into the museum, even though we had booked for the following day by accident. We really appreciated this and enjoyed the interactive audio tour.
