This sunset and stargazing tour was a fantastic experience. We started the evening on a private motu to watch the sunset. As the sun went down, our guide, Nono, shared the fascinating history of how his Polynesian ancestors navigated the vast Pacific Ocean simply by observing the stars and their natural surroundings.
Once the sky darkened, Nono helped us locate several useful constellations. He pointed out the Southern Cross, and just as he said, once you see it, you won't ever miss it again. The entire tour was very relaxing, and Nono was an incredibly knowledgeable guide. He made the experience very interactive, and it was great talking with him about Polynesian history. I walked away having truly learned a lesson from him. Highly recommended!

Very relaxing time on the water and on the beach watching the sunset and stars. Highly recommend the tour.

We had an incredible experience. Our guide picked us up from the hotel and we had a leisurely boat ride during the sunset. We went to a private motu where we had drinks, some fresh coconut and some time alone. Once it started getting dark, he walked us through the history of their ancestors, their voyaging journey, and how they settled amongst the islands. As the stars started to appear, we looked for key constellations and saw Orion, Taurus, Gemini, Jupiter, and others. It was a great evening.

Great tour. Saw a beautiful sunset and learned a lot about stars and navigation. Was a really nice time.

Beautiful sunset with drinks and snacks, informative and interesting demonstration on the history of Polynesians sailing by the stars and weather. Learned some new constellation names! Everyone on the motu was so friendly and helpful, sharing local almonds right off the tree! Can never control the weather bring a bit overcast but that barely mattered in all the beauty we got to see. Highly recommend this trip!

Wonderful! It ended up just being the two of us. Sunset then stars. Highly recommend. Great start to our trip.

Outstanding guides and tour! We had Manu and Nono, they took us to watch the sunset and then to a private island to stargaze. We saw the Milky Way and many zodiac symbols, and Manu also taught us the history of French Polynesia. They also provided light snacks and drinks to us, overall a great experience!

A must book while in Bora Bora. Can’t say enough great things. Learning history after a sunset while learning more about navigating by the stars? Incredible

We had a great time with Manu and his crew getting to drink wine and watch the sunset. The entertainment was top shelf between the crew and passengers. Definitely take this drop if you want to see the stars and learn about Polynesian culture, AND have a lot of fun laughing. Everyone was so nice, we could have done this tour multiple times.

We went out with Manauu and Tahi they were interactive funny and informative. They told us about life on Bora Bora, sang and gave an informative session . There was a full moon but they were able to show us many constellations and explain the Polynesian migration! We had some bubbly fruit and canopies. 100% recommended

Operator canceled, I understand, but they did NOT give me a refund, even after several emails. Company does not respond.

The Stargazing tour was amazing. We were given fresh coconut and sparkling wine to start After the sun went down we laid on the front of the boat to watch the stars come out. Tonya, our guide, was very knowledgeable and sweet. We had good conversation and we were able to get to know her and hear about her wonderful family. Tonya made our last night of vacation extra special. We can’t wait to go back.

I had a wonderful evening watching the sunset and sipping on champagne. Our guides were very friendly and provided a memorable evening out on the lagoon. The only thing missing was the stars since it was overcast. Otherwise, it was a wonderful evening set in an exceptionally beautiful setting.
Joy_S, Nov 2022
We were supposed to go to a private island to look at the starts. Instead, they anchored the boat, which had a cover over the top. It was impossible to get a good view of the stars.

The activity was cancelled due to bad weather. I asked for a refund. I did not get it so far. Can you please help me get a refund

What a great experience we had! The crew really made us feel like locals as we floated on the water with a beautiful view, ate fresh banana and coconut, drank wine and listened to the guys play ukulele/sing for us. Was so fascinated by the lesson we received on the stars and how their ancestors used them. We also had an amazing view of the stars and milky way. Highly recommend this to everyone.

The trip was canceled and nobody told us that this trip is no longer available due to Covid put them out of business. We were waiting for the day of confirmation and our hotel had to tell us that they were no longer in business I just hope we get our money back

Trip cancelled at the last minute. Purportedly guide was ill. Not much more I can say so I will just ramble
Christina_T, Apr 2022
Tour cancelled last minute with no offer to reschedule. I'm sure it's a solid experience but it was frustrating to have planned around that (with very late dinner reservations to accommodate and foregoing other planned activities) and then have it cancelled without any plan other than refund. Our time here is precious and we want to spend it well.

The tour operator cancelled on the day of with an obvious refund, but I haven’t received any refund or message. It’s been 3 weeks, and I’ve called to complain- they insisted the operator hasn’t responded and they have to keep trying to contact them.
I can’t believe they haven’t refunded me after ruining an experience. You cannot steal money! REFUND the charge!

I usually don't share reviews but felt I need to share my experience for the solo travelers. I booked 2 excursions through Viator for my once in a lifetime trip to Bora Bora to celebrate my military retirement. First tour was good. I didn't think anything about it when I was notified of the time change. When my 2nd tour was canceled I began to wonder. Hours prior to my tour I received this message "Thank you very much for your booking but we need to cancel our tour tonight, we are so sorry, the problem is about our unique guide for that tour he get the covid, he have positive test , that’s why we need to cancel the tour and you will have a full refund from us …Thank you and take care of yourself…". I could be wrong but I feel they most likely didn't want to make a trip for just one person. Which also led me to think my time was changed to accommodate the time that the couple chose for my first tour. I would have gone on the trip with any guide, English speaking or not. I would have taken a guide that doesn't talk. This was my last evening on island and I wanted to end it on a special note. It was too late to make any other arrangements. This is my observation and I could be wrong. It would have been nice to be extended some sort of different option.

Iaorana Mr Octavia,
Please receive all our apologies for the cancellation, we are very sorry that our unique guide get covid, a virus that we can not control even if he's vaccinated. Please Mr Octavia when you written "they most likely didn't want to make a trip just for one person", yes we don't do the tour for 1 person, we don't make money but we stay professional you know why because we always tried to plan this person for a day where there's someone, you are not the 1st person who have do this tour alone, and normally you suppose to be 5 people on 27th of march, and please Mr Octavia, check at what time the mail was sent, you have time to do anything else please Mr Octavia, stay fairplay thank you.. But I would like to say you thank you for your negative comments. That makes sense, for our future customers. We understand you, and we are totally agree with you that we should have an option if something wrong happening, thank you very much for the proposal... Thanks to you Mr Octavia, we will add this option for our future customers...Thank you so much and take care of yourself Mr Octavia--

This was one of our honeymoon activities. I'm a big fan of the sunset cruise and wouldn't have picked this if not for my wife. Turned out to be one of the coolest experiences we did. The sunset was awesome, we saw some baby sharks swimming around, our guides were knowledgeable and funny. The stargazing was equally great. Would easily recommend to everybody! Nicholson was our guide - you'll be in luck if you have him!

What a delightful evening thanks to our guide, Cy, and the two young men who served as his crew and entertainment. Their beautiful voices harmonized as they sang Polynesian melodies with the accompaniment of a ukulele. Cy was entertaining when he shared legends about Bora Bora as we watched the sunset from our outrigger boat with just 10 passengers. Finger sandwiches and beverages were served as we listened. Cy was knowledgeable and informative when he talked about the stars and constellations from the top of the motu which was in total darkness but we became concerned when it started to rain. Cy said we should enjoy the shower which would be brief and the sky would clear featuring the stars at their brightest. He was right! We had the opportunity to view the Southern Cross and the Milky Way which was so exciting. We strongly recommend this excursion. It was the highlight of our cruise to the South Pacific islands.

We had a long comfortable ride to the spot from which we were to view the sunset. Clouds set in so we didn’t get a great sunset, but the ride out was lovely. Then we went to a small island to look at the stars, and we saw lot of them. They were spectacular.

Very nice and a great way to see island from the bay. The star gazing was great(need a couple of flash lights for the walk back to boat. There are a number of steps to get to the star viewing area. Would very much recommend.

Excellent tour & lagoon cruise. Crew entertained us by singing. When at the stargazing view site, using a laser we were shown various stars and constellations. NOTE: MUST WALK UP MANY STAIRS TO GET TO VIEWING SITE
Crew knowledgeable and helpful.

Great trip! We had to take a hotel shuttle boat to the main island where we were picked up in a van and taken to the dock to catch our stargazing tour. Turned out to be a private tour as our party of 4 were the only stargazers that evening. We all enjoyed wine, prepared snacks, and live music as we watched the sunset and headed to a private island for an evening of stargazing. Our guide used a laser pointer and iPads to point out the constellations and told us stories about the early Polynesian travelers. Highly recommend if you like looking at stars.
