Itinerary
After morning pickup from Vaitape Pier or your Bora Bora hotel, start your full-day combo tour with a 4WD safari in an open-sided truck, which easily scales mountain roads to several viewpoints along the way.
A professional guide takes you around the 20-mile (32-km) circumference of the island and stops at East Matira, Faanui Canon, and Amanahune Bay lookouts with postcard-perfect views, including a panorama of the sparkling Bora Bora lagoon. Learn about the military artifacts left behind by US troops after WWII, and discover volcanic rock formations from the island’s ancient caldera.
Observe the production of coconut oil and tie-dye sarongs by local artisans at a crafts workshop, and sample tropical fruits at a small plantation.
After your morning island tour, enjoy a delicious lunch (included) before transferring to your boat for the afternoon cruise portion of your tour. Settle under the sunshade or on the sundeck as your captain navigates to a calm lagoon where you can snorkel in waist-deep water with tame stingrays or simply observe them from the boat if you prefer.
After this up-close experience with the rays, you’re taken to another spot where black-tip reef sharks glide past your vessel. Follow up at a final snorkeling spot over colorful corals teeming with tropical fish. After your search for ‘Nemo’ is over, end your day trip with the return to your Bora Bora hotel.

The first half of the day, on the boat, was spectacular! Snorkeling in several cool areas, wading around with rays and sharks, and a great lunch on the beach.
Second half of the day, the 4x4 exploration, was a bit of a letdown. You never really see the interior of the island. You never go more than 1/4 mile from the main road, up a small hill to a lookout for photos, and move one. While beautiful, it got repetitious pretty quickly.

It’s a moderate activity but well worth the experience and value. Snorkeling in 3 phases around the island was amazing. Beautiful coral, sting rays and sharks is an experience like no other.

Got to experience land and sea in Bora Bora. Maui is an incredible guide. He took us to several places by boat. We saw and were among rays and sharks, an incredible coral garden, a special area where the sand was like no other place, just amazing. The lunch was on an idyllic motu with picnic tables in the water. The food was very good. Then came the land excursion with Nono. He took us to view points, showed us flora and plants, told us about the island, and even some shopping. We highly recommend this tour.

We had a fantastic time on this excursion. Our guide Matu and captain Ari were so friendly and made the day really relaxing and fun. And lunch at Matu's family's home on the motu was incredible! Our guide for the 4x4 adventure was also very friendly, knowledgeable, and an excellent driver. We truly enjoyed this excursion!

It was wonderful! I can’t swim but the guides were so supportive and helped me overcome my fears during the snorkeling! They were all nice and informative. The lunch was amazing.

We were in Bora Bora for an overnight stay while cruising. Our excursion was on November 2, 2024.
We travelled with our best friends and their mom. There was 5 of us in our group. We were picked up by a traditional boat and taken to the first snorkeling spot where we saw the reef sharks. What an amazing experience!! After that we were taken to another spot where the water was shallow so my friend’s mom who is 77 years old got in the water as well and truly enjoyed the interaction with the stingrays. Sharks were everywhere too! After that we were taken to a private beach for an amazing lunch. The food was delicious and the people were very friendly. Our guides were young and fun and made sure we had the best time and our needs were met.
The pickup time and place were communicated very clearly. We got off the cruise ship early and walked around the town a bit. Our guide was at the meeting location early and got us to the boat. One of the best parts of the entire excursion was that the group was small. There were 13 of us all together. Only 7 of us did the land part of the excursion. We were loaded in an open air truck and taken around the island. We were taken up to a mountain via a very steep road which was both exciting and terrifying at the same time. But the view was worth every second of that ride!
Overall, one of the best experiences we’ve had with excursions. No waits anywhere, no delays, organized and efficient. Great guides too! Definitely a great way to see a lot in a day. Highly recommended to anyone!

Ia Orana Ilona,
We are glad to hear you and your party had a great experience with us and you are totally right, when staying for a short time in Bora Bora, the combo tour is definitely a good choice to see as much possible. Thank you for sharing.

Our group of 10 people unanimously agreed this was one of the most special and amazing excursions we have ever done in our lives! Manu and his cousin Ari were so special, super real and so friendly! Incredible people at to spend a day in Bora bora

This excursion exceeded our entire party of 10 best dreams ever! We have traveled a lot, this climbs to the top of anything we have done! It was that amazing, Manu and his cousin who led for us were just incredible! Book this one!

Great all around tour, with super-friendly staff and excellent communication.
Staff helped my spouse with the snorkeling (when sea was a little rough). They even sang and played instruments at a dive spot—very atmospheric!
Lunch was great fun too and you can’t beat that view.
The island tour by truck was a little lame, tbh. I think there is not enough to see rather than the tour or the driver.

Awesome experience swimming with sharks and stingray. Manu brothers and Ari took us to several places to see Manta ray, sharks, coral garden, eel…super cool. We got to eat lunch that was cooked by Manu’s grand parents at a beautiful island. Then we were taken to the 4x4 ride. It was scary to drive up a very stiff hill but Manu was an excellent driver, he talked about the history of the island and how the people migrated to the island. Very interesting! The best part was we were treated local fruits while listening him singing a gospel song.

These guys were amazing!!!
From start to finish we had the most amazing day! Snorkel with the rays/sharks…lunch at the ‘family compound’ with amazing food!
Afternoon with a jeep tour of the island!
Driver made the most incredible drives up rugged roads giving us views and telling us of the history of the island.
Definitely book with these guys…you’ll have the BEST experience!

Can’t recommend this family operated adventure enough! They made sure all was taken care of…from transfers getting there & back to making sure your experience was the best! Lunch provided was perfect & yummy! Highly recommend this tour for a great overall experience of BoraBora!

This was such a fun day. The pick up was smooth...we were coming off the Windstar cruise so they picked us up at Vaitape. We had one other couple at a hotel to pick up and then were off. The weather was sunny but really windy. However all the things promised were delivered. We even got to jump in the deep water and see eagle rays.
Lunch was a highlight...it was my first poisson cru and completely delicious! Lunch with little fish swimming around while we sat on picnic tables in the lagoon was fun.
Then they took us across to jump in the truck and get the tour. This island doesn't have a ton of 'history' as it relates to the drive (pointing out hotels, etc.) ....but it was neat to go up the steep bits to get a higher vantage point and to get the opportunity to see the whole island.
Overall I would highly recommend. Watchouts are that there will be people who are not doing the same 4x4 trip. Some people stay behind on the motu to chill for the afternoon. That can get little confusing. Also with the wind it can be hard to hear what's going on...but just let things flow and it will work out.

Had a great time

What a fun day snorkeling with friendly mana rays, black tipped sharks, eagle rays and many other colorful fish. The guides were incredible and ensured we were in the right places to see the most fish and gorgeous coral reefs. They helped us on and off the boat and kept an eye on everyone for safety. Family made lunch on the beach was delicious. Unfortunately due to the weather we could not do the 4X4 tour but we were promptly refunded for that part of the tour. It was a fabulous experience!

Even after sending multiple communications through email and the Viator app, no response. We notified the tour of our arrival time and that we were being tendered and they still left without us. Upon arrival, the guy was still holding the sign with our names on it and he was of no help or assistance. We asked if we could meet on the tour ashes he suddenly didn’t speak English and he disappeared, leaving us at the port dumbfounded. We end up rent a vehicle from Avis and creating our on tour.
Victoria_T, Apr 2024
The tour company will not respond. We were provided a tour that only included the cruise. No 4wd tour was included. This was not what we paired for and have asked for a partial refund. They have not or maybe will not respond to our emails. Feels like a bait and switch. I’ll be contacting our credit card company.

The guides were great and helpful for the snorkling and land tours. The other guests were also great on the tours. I met some interesting people.

We spent all morning snorkeling at 3 different spots in BB, to include a lengthy stop at the Ray and shark area. Our guide was incredibly kind to the marine animals and displayed a respectful rapport with them. He had a great ability to find small critters under water. Then we stopped on a private island for lunch and purchased homemade sarongs. Afterwards we took a ride covered trucks to areas high in the mountains. Warning: it’s very bumpy so you may need to avoid that portion if you have mobility issues or back problems. Our favorite tours on the 11 day trip
Glen_T, Feb 2024
Amazing and enjoyable tour. The amount of fish & sharks we saw was wonderful. The snorkeling tour guide & his cousin were the best from giving information to entertaining us. Lunch on a motu was excellent sitting at tables with our feet in the water. Then off to meet our 4 x 4 tour run by a brother of the snorkeling guide. We saw much of the island & went up 2 mountains to see the view of the bay below. Overall an excellent day that will stay in our memories forever.

The first part of our tour was on water and it was great. We snorkled at 3 different locations and then had an excellent lunch. The second part was the 4x4. Unfortunately it was not what we were expecting. We did one road up in the hills with beautiful views of the island. The rest of the tour was on the regular road around the island. Our driver was friendly but unfortunately his English wasn't very good so he was hard to understand. He said he was filling in for the normal guide who was sick that day. I would recommend the water portion for sure but I'm not so sure about the 4x4 portion. We had hoped to go more off roading to see more inland areas of the island.

Doing the excursion with this family was awesome. They knew what they were doing , had a lot of knowledge of their profession and history of Bora Bora. Omg and super funny. Love their sense of humor. Very attentive. The lunch that their family prepared was the best food I had on my trip. Very welcoming family. Grandma omg I love her . Very sweet lady. Reminded me of my grammie when she was here. Thank you for the best time.

Snorkeling was the best Ive ever seen. We were lucky enough to see three enormous manta rays, tons of sharks and stingrays. Next we were taken to the coral garden and it was the most colorful and beautiful snorkeling I’d ever seen.
Our guide for snorkeling was fun and enthusiastic. He was genuinely excited to find the giant manta ray’s and told us it was our lucky day. It sure was!
Our 4 x 4 guide was the brother of our snorkeling guide and as kind, funny and as knowledgeable as his younger brother. We learned so much about the islands, and the history of the French Polynesian in general. I would definitely recommend this combo tour.
I would recommend wearing your swimsuit and cover-up for the whole day. Bring towels, bottled water and sunscreen. That is all you need.
Samuel_G, Oct 2023
This was such an amazing experience. The crew makes you feel like your it’s your friends showing you their home. The scenery is like nothing else I’ve seen in the world. The lunch was so amazing and they were very accommodating to us! 10 out of 10 would recommend spending your money with this tour!

Great way to see Bora Bora when time is short. My husband has lots of mobility issues and they were so very helpful and kind. Thank you!

Excellent tour and service. We were picked up from our accomodation dock. The guides were very friendly, funny, accomodating and provided a safe and comfortable environment. We snorkelled at 3 beautiful locations and seen fish, sharks and stingrays. We also saw a turtle and dolphins from the boat. We stopped at a beautiful motu for a delicious lunch prepared by a local family. Then it was onto our 4wd tour with a very knowledgeable Manu who provided so much history on the island. He is truly passionate about the island, his culture and people which was very refreshing. All in all we had a lot of fun on this tour and would 100% recommend.
Dan_S, Aug 2023
The first point where we shnorkeled with sharks...it was beautiful.
The 4x4 was also good, it is the only way to reach by vehicle those summits.
Aurore_D, May 2023
Amazing, every part of it I loved. The boat, the food, the table in the water for lunch, the activities the 4x4 and the views just wwaaaooouuuhhhh.
