We had a very personal service all the way. We arrived at the port from our cruise ship and were met by Aimee, the owner. The beautiful speed boat arrived on time and Rudy the captain took us straight off to see Manta Rays and then later Eagle Rays. He then took us to see the spectacular coral garden. He had all the equipment if you needed any and gave us as much time as we wanted in each location. We would highly recommend this company.

A magical getaway into the underwater world. Just us and one other couple. We say manta rays, eagle rays, reef sharks, and tropical fish in the corals. Highly recommend. Very relaxing and fun!

It's a fantastic experience boating around the main island. We swam with a mantaray and found eagle rays. The coral reef experience was amazing!

This was a great tour but be aware that it involves swimming in deep water. They offer life jackets and flippers, take them. You will see Manta Rays, Eagle Rays, and tons of other fish. It was great but you will need to be able to swim some distance.

You are absolutely right-being comfortable in the water definitely makes the whole experience even better (and safer too!). When we go looking for manta rays, it's not always just a "jump and they are right here" kind of moment... sometimes it requires a bit of swimming to meet them !
And as we like to say, it's not a zoo-these are wild and free animals, which is exactly what makes the experience so special !
We are and always will be happy to help and support anyone who's a bit less confident in the water, but yes, you are right to warn the community interested that being a little at ease and willing to put in a small effort really helps to get the most out of it :)

This was our best excursion in French Polynesia during our 10 day cruise. Our guide, David, and assistant, Rau, met us at the cruise port. We quickly got onto the comfortable speed boat and began our tour around the island. David provided us with a wealth of knowledge, not only about Bora Bora, but also about the marine life, the coral reefs, the motus (small islands), and so much more. The snorkeling was the best we have ever experienced and we have been to the Great Barrier Reef! After visiting the coral gardens, we went to another area and followed a group of 11 rays. It was everything we could ever have dreamed about. Safety was stressed throughout our tour. I would highly recommend this experience!

Rudoph (Rudie) did a wonderful job of not only transporting us and guiding us but also educating us on this snorkeling adventure. He sincerely cares about the sea life and ecosystems as well as his passengers and their experience. We learned a lot from him and saw some incredible rays and fish.

We had a great time! We were not able to find the Mantra Ray, but saw a couple of other kinds of rays, including Eagle Rays and thousands of fish! Or guide Vincent was extremely knowledgeable and made our day amazing!

Vincent, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and shared valuable information about the area. He brought us to points around the island that provided great viewing of the underwater wildlife. The Coral gardens were fantastic…..have never seen so many fish is one place! Would highly recommend a tour with H2O Bora Bora. We had great communication with them and enjoyed the smallBor group tour….there were only 6 of us..

Outstanding snorkeling experience. Company was H2O. Boat driver / tour guide was Mat. Online CSR was Aimee. Superb communication with Aimee prior to meeting Mat at boat dock. Very nice speed boat and only 6 passengers. We saw a magnificent manta ray at stop #1; stunningly beautiful coral garden and tropical fish at stop #2; a group of 6 eagle rays at stop #3. Touring around the island and lagoon was beautiful. One of the nicest tours I've done in my 10 months so far of cruising perpetually around the world.

Rudolph was great - we saw eagle rays, manta rays, and the amazing coral garden. And as a bonus a huge pod of dolphins visited. By far the best snorkeling we have ever done.

We didn't get to see any sharks everyone else we spoke to on our cruise ship saw sharks on their trips

We are genuinely sorry that the experience did not meet your expectations, and we would like to clarify a few important points for future readers.
On the day of your excursion, the boat had only four guests on board, allowing for a very personalised experience.
Our guide first visited a known manta ray site, where none were present at that time — something that can naturally happen with wild animals. He then stopped at the coral garden known as the Aquarium, followed by an eagle ray site where 14 eagle rays were observed. Later in the excursion, the group encountered a manta ray and a turtle, with the guide reporting excellent visibility throughout the tour.
Regarding sharks, our guide explained during the trip — and it is also clearly stated in our Tripadvisor product description — that we do not participate in any feeding of the animals.
The shallow-water shark and stingray site where animals are conditioned by feeding is never included in our excursion. Shark and ray feeding has been illegal in French Polynesia since October 2017, and we strictly respect both the law and ethical wildlife practices - even prior to the ban this is not something that we participated in.
It is very important to note that blacktip reef sharks are naturally shy animals. Encountering them in large numbers in very shallow water is not natural behaviour and only occurs where feeding has taken place over many years.
Our excursions focus on observing marine life in its natural environment, without altering animal behaviour for guaranteed sightings.
While we understand disappointment when expectations differ from reality, we feel this review overlooks the many positive wildlife encounters that took place and focuses on an activity we clearly state we do not offer.
We kindly encourage guests to carefully read excursion descriptions before booking to ensure the experience aligns with their expectations.

The personal approach with our group of four was so much better than being in a big group from the ship. Vincent and Teri always made sure that we were safe and enjoying our time. Teri taught us a lot about the sea life. Vincent talked about the surrounding areas. We would definitely do this excursion again!

We had enough time to make 4 stops. First stop we snorkeled by Manta Rays and a couple eagle rays, 2nd stop we swam with eagle rays, 3rd stop a lot of colorful coral and fish, last stop more eagle rays. All stops had fish to see. Winston with H2O was our guide and a great job explaining everything in French and English.

We went to the snorkel trip on Nov.4 at 9am and had a great experience. Our captain is very knowledgable and responsible. He went to snorkel with us and always made sure our safety during the entire trip. It was a small group, only 2 families. We all had an amazing time!

Captain Matt took amazing care of us, ensuring everyone’s safety while giving us the best opportunity to experience Bora Bora’s incredible marine life.
We were lucky enough to see a group of about 25 eagle rays, several stingrays, three majestic manta rays within just a few meters of us, and countless fish in the coral gardens.
Highly recommend - a small, intimate group and the added bonus of being picked up by boat right from our accommodation.

An excellent tour, although the weather wasn't the best, our guide located a large school of rays that we were able to observe and follow. Manta's were more difficult, and all but one stayed hidden. The coral garden was absolutely amazing. Excellent adventure and a highlight of our time on Bora Bora

Matt was extremely responsible and professional throughout the entire diving trip. He took us to 3 amazing dive sites, and at each spot, we were treated to breathtaking views of the underwater world—colorful corals, vibrant fish, and so much marine life that made every moment unforgettable.
