I ended up as the only person on this tour, but Yaqeline was a fantastic guide! She is funny and very knowledgeable. I especially enjoyed sampling the local snacks. This is a great tour to get to know one of Bogotá’s oldest neighborhoods.

Thank you for joining us in Bogotá! 🇨🇴Sometimes the best conversations happen in the smallest groups, and we're delighted to hear you enjoyed exploring La Candelaria with Yaqueline. We love that the local snacks were one of your highlights. Food, stories, and hidden corners of the city are exactly what make this neighborhood so special. Thank you for spending part of your time in Bogotá with us, and we hope the memories of the historic center stay with you long after your trip.
The guide was awesome and I plan to take another one of the tours when I come back to visit. Very good sense of humor and spoke perfect English!
Instructor Nat was so helpful and understanding and made the experience so enjoyable. Highly recommend 👌
A fast pace walk through candelaria with short visits to places. Got to try some different fruits, chocolate and coffee. The tour felt really rushed and was finished in less than 3 hours. It would have been good to get a couple minutes to watch the street performers. We got a 10 min game of Tejo at the end.
I loved everything about this experience - the sights we saw, the great food and drink we sampled, the small group size but most of all, I really appreciated our guide, Yaquelina. She posses so much knowledge about the area and it’s history, this tour was a really good introduction to the area. She didn’t hesitate to answer any and all questions. This tour is a great way to explore the Candalaria area of Bogota.
This was really a very nice tour with our English speaking guide Jina. A taste of Colombian exotic fruits included in the trip.
Yuly was an amazing guide and very knowledgeable about Colombia as a whole! I would recommend this to anyone wanting to get a feel for the city. I will definitely be taking one of Yuly’s other tours as she made the experience exceptional.
This was a great walking tour, well worth the money and I really recommend for tourists visiting Bogota. Nat was super friendly, so knowledgeable and passionate. It was so interesting to hear her share her personal experiences and she was curious about us as well. She was really perfect and very glad that we got this tour and her as our guide. The game at the end was a super nice touch, especially with the expertise of a professional player. Despite the rain, this was an enjoyable experience.
Yulie was an awesome guide! It was easy going, we got to try foods and drinks and got to know the area well. Julie’s English is perfect and it’s a great way to get to know the area. We had a 16 and 13 year old and they enjoyed it too.
Our guide Mariana waa very good and knowledgeable about La Candalaria, Colombia & Bogotahistory
It was a very pleasant afternoon tour
Nick was a great Guide! He spoke excellent English! Very knowledgeable of the country! Friendly and helpful! Amazing guide. Thank you for the tour! We love it!
Natalia was an excellent guide. She was very friendly and informative. Loved trying the different fruits, chocolates and coffees. Playing Tejo was fun too!
The guide is professional and taking me to different parts of this district. The scene is very good. Also he told me a lot of things that I don’t know. It is very informative for me to learn the local culture. Afterwards the free dishes are also flavoured. Thank you
The tour with our tour guide was very interesting. I would recommend this trip to everyone because during the trip we passed through key Bogota places. Our tour guide was very communicative and she explained everything with involvment. She answered all the questions (even not connected directly with the trip).
The walking tour is a must. Our guide Lorenzo spoke perfect English and was very informative. We would recommend you take the tour on your first day in Bogota, as it gives you some sense of direction around the city, which helps if its your first time. Really enjoyed the tour. Its worth the money.
We had such a great with Gina! It was just me, my partner and her and she went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. The tour was very fun and she was very knowledgeable and encouraged all questions. We learnt a lot and she made our first day in Bogotá brilliant.
Amazing tour, learned a lot about culture and history, beyond my expectations! Was a lot of Fun and definitely recommend
Jackie was amazing definitely a great experience. really recommend taking this tour, we got to learn a lot about Columbia culture and got to taste amazing food
Trying food was great and the different drinks was a great day out the guide was fantastic and we would recommend
Our tour guide was very energetic and sweet. However, when I booked this tour, it stated that it was for a MAXIMUM of 15 people. I was travelling with a group of 19 so I divided our group in half and booked it for 2 different groups. As a matter of fact, your site did not even allow you to book a tour for more than 15. Obviously, I assumed there would be a tour guide for each of the 2 groups. Not only was there only 1 tour guide, but there were an additional 11 people for a TOTAL of 30 in the ONE group. Our guide carried a little portable speaker but unless you were right next to her, you could NOT even hear her. I booked an English speaking tour and there were both English and Spanish speakers so she had to repeat everything in BOTH languages which made the tour a lot longer. Very disappointed.

Good evening and thank you for choosing The True Colombian Experience. Unfortunately it seems there has been a misunderstanding. The listing for this tour says that it can have up to 30 people per group. This is the very first thing listed in the overview for this tour.
TripAdvisor only allows customers to purchase 15 reservations at a time in order to prevent fraud, but the actual tour company, True Colombian Experience, explicitly says the tour group can be up to 30. This is why you had to book the reservations separately.
During your tour you asked the tour guide why there were so many people because you had thought it would be a smaller group. She informed you that the tour group size was up to 30 people.
You also expressed displeasure that the tour was in both Spanish and English. Once again, in the listing for this tour it says that the tour is in both Spanish and English. We cannot give the tour in only one language if not everyone speaks it as we have to accommodate everyone on the tour (on your tour not everyone was fluent in English).
In the future, if you want a small-sized tour in your language of choice, we encourage you to book a private tour that accommodates your preferences.Thank you and have a nice day.
This tour was a great way to start my trip in Colombia and get to see a bit of the city. Extremely welcoming and very good value for money. Tejo is very fun and the hot chocolate with surprise was delicious!
Yvonne was great! 2 places on our scheduled tour was closed but Yvonne improvised & we ended up having the BEST empanadas ever! The walking tour also included fruit tasting & a sample of the traditional Chicha drink - I actually liked it! (Tastes like applesauce + kombucha)
I’ve taken the food tour at the Cranky Croc hostel before & this walking tour was wonderful too! I recommend them!
Gina is an outstanding guide who knows how to deliver an exceptional tour experience. We had a small group and she exhibited the rare ability to personalize the tour according to the group's preferences, making the tour a truly unique and unforgettable experience. With her passion and adaptability, Gina goes above and beyond to ensure that her group has the best possible experience, making her one of the best guides out there. If you're looking for a tour guide who can turn a good experience into a great one, look no further than Gina!
Our tour guide was really nice and well informed. She took us around the best and most interesting parts of Bogata all the while explaining the culture and history.
Marianna was a wonderful guide - full of interesting information and very personable. Highly recommended. It’s worth twice the price.
The Walking Tour did not really follow the plan and description of places. I was traveling solo and the rest of the group was a family who all spoke Spanish. I am sure I missed a lot of information as the discussion was primarily done in the native language.
Biggest problem I had was the description stated that it was 3 hours and my experience was close to 4 hours, ending around 2:30 p.m. with no lunch. Also said we would start and end at same location and we did not. Was rather lost and very hungry in a big city when tour ended.
We had a brilliant time at this walking tour! We got to visit places that we would have certainly missed if not with the guide as well as the main sites in Bogota. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable and the group was a great size. Highly recommend!
As a solo traveler, I really enjoyed this tour. Milena was an excellent tour guide. She really loves her country and it shows in every word she speaks. Thank you for much for a wonderful experience. Do yourself a favor and take this tour.
If you take only one tour, this has to be it. Our guide Julie delivered a brilliant mix of history, culture, and local hole-in-the-wall places, this tour exceeded all expectations and was safe. 10 stars!
Julie was our tour guide and she was amazing. She was very passionate about Colombia and shared so much information. 10/10 I highly recommend.
