I was a bit apprehensive of this tour until we met our tour guide, Luis Vásquez. My husband, my daughter and I don’t have much horseback riding experience, but by the end of the tour, we were pros. Luis took his time with us. He allowed us to get used to riding the horses. Show us the beauty of Andes valleys. Explained to us the plants and fauna along the way. The tour began from Guadalupe. I had some issues with the altitude. Luis was very kind, waited for me as I got used to the altitude. We began the horseback riding from la parada de mona with some empanadas and steaming hot sugar cane tea. The sky cleared up when we started to ride the horses. What a beautiful sight! The most exhilarating part was going down the hill. Be prepared to trust your horse lead you through the rugged terrain. Be prepared to dirty your cloth and waterproof boots. We were a mess by the time we arrived at Montserrate. Luis gave us a detailed tour of Montserrate. If you are looking for cultural and exhilarating experience, I highly recommend this tour. Pls ask luis as your guide. His English is very good and his friendliness and kindness made this tour memorable and safe.

Hello, so we did the horseback riding tour yesterday and it was beautiful. However, the description said a snack was included and that was false. We went to the first stop and went to get on the horses and I was still expecting food, but none ever came so by the time we got to the end of the horseback ride I was dying. So we had to stop and get food at one of the food stands at the top of the mountain. Other than that it was amazing. But I don’t think you guys should advertise that you offer food if you don’t because that is kind of a key issue especially for a six hour excursion. If no snack was going to be given to us, he should’ve said some thing, and then I would’ve bought some food at our first stop from one of the vendors.

Hola, Katie. We are really sorry for the inconvenience caused during the tour because of not offering the snack. We have checked the situation with the guide, and he explained he forgot to bring and offer the snacks. We will update the information regarding the snacks, though, in order to be more specific about it, so tourists have detailed information about it. We're glad to read that other than that you enjoyed the experience. We'll keep working hard to avoid these things from happening again.

We did not get to do the horse-riding trip because there was a landslide. We were fortunate to change it for another trip which the tour company was willing to do and was also given a refund.
Jose the tour guide was very friendly and accommodative.
Hats off to Viator.

I loved this excursion. The day began with short visit to the church at Guadalupe. From there we took a short drive and grabbed a light breakfast by the side of the road where we met the horses. The ride started out along country roads through farmland. About 1/3 of the way, the ride shifted to an exhilarating trail ride. We finished at Monserrate on a perfect Sunday with the parties in full swing (Domingo is a big day at Monserrate). It was all a blast. Our guides Diego and Francisco were very nice, and importantly, attentive. I have ridden on trails for my entire life and felt engaged the whole time. My friend had only ridden a couple of times ever and had an awesome time.
This is no pony ride. The trails are steep, rocky and wet. The horses are sure footed and confident. The views are incredible throughout.

Hopefully, you can be back soon!

This was a super fun experience. From the moment of booking, Luis, the guide, was super excited. Guadalupe Hill and Monserrate on their own are really beautiful sites with great views of the city, but to ride on horseback through the andes between them is a unique and wonderful experience. I'd only ridden a horse at very slow speeds and that's the pace a kept for the first half of the trip. But the make or break moment is when you head down through the rocky slopes. At first blush, I was not ready for it. You have the option of walking if you're not totally comfortable, but I just headed Luis's advice, trusted the horse, and, by the end of it, I felt like i riding was second hand. I totally recommend this over getting ported around by car.

Dear Jon, I know how scary can be the horseriding in some part of the way but in the end totally worth it. "Trusted the horse" that´s the key.

I have been riding horses since I was three years old in Kentucky. I have taken other horseback riding tours in Iceland, Costa Rica, Grand Canyon, Arizona desert, etc. But, the adventure and excitement of this tour was better than all the others put together. We went from the top of one mountain at Guadalupe and down and back up another mountain to Monserrate. We rode through forests, steep dry down-hill river beds, and through farms and pastures. It was just a non-stop adventure that I have never in my life experienced or ever thought that I would have.-I would like to add that Marcela Tamayo, our guide from Gran Colombia Tours was awesome too. We did this trip in September 2018 and later we actually had a Christmas day chat with her via WhatsApp. She is so nice and fun. We feel like we have known her for years.Take this trip and you will never forget it. Be prepared to put John Wayne to shame. It is not a Pony ride like at the zoo.David and Nelson

El guía, el conductor, el sr de los caballos muy profesionales y divertidos. En cuanto a la experiencia vivir una travesía agreste atrás de una gran ciudad como Bogotá. Formidable.!!
