We had a great time making a local soup, dangojiru. It was really tasty. Our hosts, Mari-san and Aya-san, were super nice and fun to talk to.
I highly recommend this cooking workshop of you’re in the Beppu area!

Warm hospitality of Masa and his female assistant made the experience authentic and memorable. Masa-san was flexible in visiting another market when he knew we’ve been to the original market he wanted to bring us. Along the way he pointed out street landmarks and shared what it was in the past versus present. The pace and explanation of cooking were comfortable and clear.

This was one of the BEST culinary experiences we’ve had and we do culinary experiences all over the world. The location in the 100+year old house was really nice and the little local crafts area was fabulous! The lady who led the class was great but the coordinator was absolutely amazing! We had trouble getting a taxi so he sent us one, afterwards he arranged a trip to the monkey park for us. We would keep in touch with him!
