This has been one of our favourite activities ever. Rico was an excellent calligraphy teacher. We learned not only how to write various strokes & words but also the history of writing characters.
The Space is a wonderful century old house where many community activities occur.

The Calligraphy lesson exceeded any expectations we had.
Our hostess was so graceful and welcomed us, although we were an unacceptable 30 minutes late.
In addition to writing numerous words, we also learnt of their history and meaning.
The definite highlight of our trip so far.

Aoi was such a patient teacher, and pointed out our progress as we went. The facilities were perfect, with a yummy ramen shop down the street for lunch afterward. We loved finding a creative, out-of-the way place to explore during our one day in Beppu (we're on a cruise).
