Our trip from Aswan to Luxor by car was just a little over 3 hours. It a was a safe journey with a few police stops along the way. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone sho is on the fence. There is nothing to worry about. Our driver took the fast route and he spoke English. However he did not ask us if we need to use the washroom or need water on our way, although he stopped for a smoke and we had to wait 5 minutes. All is all it was a nice drive.

After sending a screenshot and live link of my location the transport still turned up at the wrong place. I repeated this and after several messages and a conversation via a tour guide, the van driver arrived an hour late. We had already checked out of our boat and together with all of our luggage were left stood at the side of the road in the sun. Aside from that, the van was clean and we were able to stop for the bathroom and to buy water (although we were promised complimentary water on the booking).

The driver was punctual and drove safely. Overall, I am very satisfied with the service provided. The only point for improvement concerns the end location of the transfer. As the tour title is “From Aswan to Luxor,” I understood that the service would end at a client-designated location within Luxor. I had specified Karnak Temple in advance and also informed the driver again during the trip. However, upon arrival in Luxor, the driver seemed uncertain and stated that the service ended upon reaching Luxor. (After having some negotiation, he took me to the designated location.) This may have been a communication misunderstanding. Given the driver’s excellent driving skills and punctuality, the service would be even better if the driver could accommodate the client’s designated destination within Luxor.

Don’t Book Emo Tours

I can’t recommend Emo Tours Egypt. We booked several transfers and tours with them and had trouble with each one. First, our transfer from the airport dropped us off 1 km from our hotel and told us to walk because the road was close. We later learned this wasn’t true but driver didn’t want to go down the dirt road. Other taxis picked us up. When we contacted Emo they said they would reply back but never did. On the ligh show we asked multiple times if the tour was in English as we hear it might be in French. They said they checked and it was an English night…untrue, and they wouldn’t offer a discount. Third, out pickup to Luxor was 40 min late, we were told to take a Tuk-tuk to a location from a picture sent. They wouldn’t respond to WhatsApp, I called, and they just take it will take time. Driver was going 190km/hr and falling asleep at the wheel. When we arrived late he wanted me to review him and hassled me for a tip and review.

One challenge was communication - at one point three different numbers texted, then it took a while to manage through a delayed flight situation where we thought we had communicated clearly - and a bit odd stating at one point the driver was there but then really wasn’t - perhaps there’s a pool by which drivers are called up, not sure. The drive to Luxor was smooth. Pick up and drop off were a little rocky, firstly they were 20 minutes late from the scheduled pick up time then when we got to Luxor, I had to guide the driver with my Google maps. However the drive was safe and smooth and took just over 3 hours.

Absolutely excellent. Our driver was hilarious and great. He told us about Egypt, answered our questions, and got us there in great time. He offered several stops, but we casually declined and that was no problem at all. You could easily customize your trip a little more for sure. Terrible ride. Driver was late, didn't have water, didn't speak any word of English, took the long road near the Nile instead of the highway (which made us waste 45minutes), got lost at some point in Luxor (I had to show him the way using my smartphone), didn't know the final destination (wow!). I definitely do not recommend you to have a ride with that company. They are amateurs.

I reserved the private transfer from Nile cruise back to Aswan. The driver pick us up on time and easy to communicate to where pick up and change time. The driver is excellent very nice ride it's just long drive and the road has so many check point and slow bump along the way. The driving took 41/2 hours.
