Chilling on the Nile

It was a pretty nice experience, relaxed and chilling. Our guide Mohamed was so nice and always answered our questions. Also he gives you some time to have a refreshing bath on the Nile River beach.

Tour guide, Manal, met me at my hotel, and we walked a short distance to the waiting motorboat that takes you to Nubian Village. She was very nice and had a good relationship with the motorboat operator, so I was offered the option to visit the motorboat operator's village in the 'old' Nubian Village. It was great! The original homes were amazing, and visiting with the Nubian family in their home was a very touching experience. I am sure that visiting the 'new' Nubian Village would also be a great experience, the colorful homes are beautiful, and the people who live in the Village are very warm and welcoming. Definitely a great side tour if you have the time.

No es necesario tomar el tour

Se puede ir a la villa nubia por cuenta propia, no vale la pena pagar el tour, ellos solo lo llevan a una casa nubia a sentarse sin hacer nada, otros guías explicaban más, brindaban snacks locales, dejaban tocar los cocodrilos, a mí solo me preguntó el guía si quería seguir ahí o irnos, obviamente preferí ir a caminar por el pueblo, pero solo me llevó a una tienda para comprar y luego de regreso al bote, tuve que pedirle que me mostrara más del pueblo nubio y él insistía en que no había más, solo me llevó al otro extremo y de regreso. Aunque el guía trato de darse a entender por su inglés no era muy bueno, también me ayudó tomándome fotos, no sentí que en general el tour valiera la pena, es más barato ir por cuenta propia, se contrata un bote en la orilla por $2-$4 aprox. y se camina por cuenta propia en la villa. Por cierto fui a las 3pm a mí me dijeron que la gente estaba durmiendo y por eso estaba desolado, si prefieren que esté vacío por la tarde es mejor, pero si quieren ver algo de acción, supongo que sería mejor por las mañanas. Fui en Septiembre
