Overview

Though originally Jamaican, jerk seasoning is a staple on most Caribbean islands. Learn about the history and techniques behind jerk meat recipes at Nicole’s Table, a short drive from St. John's. In addition to a cooking lesson, Nicole offers secret tips and recipes for you to try at home. Afterwards, sit down for lunch that consists of cocktails, appetizers, jerk meat, and dessert.

We are unable to offer transportation to our home, but we do provide customized directions and information for all of our guests. When you arrive at our home, we always meet you and talk with the taxi driver to make sure he or she will pick you up on time when we are finished. We work with cruisers, hotel guests, and BnB guests all the time so we can help you find our way to our home via taxi or a car rental.

Nicole has the best personality and knowledge to make this a wonderful time together. How much fun it was preparing, learning, and dining together! We tried the recipes again once we were home; they were easy and equally as delicious. This was definitely the best thing we did when in Antigua. Nicole opens her beautiful home and provides a professional service with friendliness and warmth. We highly recommend Nicole!

If you’re a foodie (and even if you’re not!) this is such a great way to spend a day in Antigua! From the beautiful location, to the hospitality of your hostess, Nicole, to the easy of booking and then the experience of cooking the most delicious Jerk Chicken meal alongside Chef…PREPARE TO BE IN HEAVEN!! She welcomes you into her home and makes you feel like you’re cooking lunch at a family reunion. Everything we ate was delicious, but I still dream about those pumpkin fritters! I attended with 5 other friends and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Nicole, you thought I was kidding… but I’ll be back!!

The class consisted of making appetizers, a full course meal and a dessert and time to enjoy the meal. Nicole, the instructor, and Natasha, her assistant were wonderful. They took us through the steps for making jerk chicken and other Caribbean cooking. The instructions were great. Nicole took time to answer many questions. The kitchen was extra clean. The setting was amazing. Nicole and Natasha were very kind and we enjoyed their hospitality. I would definitely take another class with them. They definitely bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. It was a very fun afternoon.

So much more than just a cooking class!!

We felt at home right away! Nicole and her husband were wonderful hosts. We collectively created a wonderful Jerk Chicken meal with rice and beans, a tasty pumpkin fritter and then a coconut dessert! We had a great experience doing the jerk chicken class at Nicole’s. Nicole is very friendly and welcoming host. Her class is held in her home and is very authentic and relaxed. She is so knowledgable about each of the ingredients and dishes we cooked - it was almost like a food history lesson as well as a cooking class. The lesson was very hands on with the entire group in the class, it was a great opportunity to meet new people. Nicole also provided written recipes based on what we cooked for us to take away. Though we probably won’t be able to get all the fresh wonderful ingredients back in the UK - we are excited to take these recipes back into our own kitchen. Thank you for this amazing experience. We would recommend it to anybody visiting Antigua.

My adult children and I experienced Nicole's Table Jerk Chicken together. We've been traveling and exploring the world for 2 decades and this was one of the top 3 excursions we've ever done. The home was beautiful with very scenic views, Nicole and Adam were warm and entertaining, the lesson was informative, and the food was the best we had during our 7-day stay on the island. We were a party of 4 and had a wonderful time at Nicole's Table. Nicole and her family were very welcoming into their beautiful home. She taught us about jerk and then, with her direction, we proceeded to make the jerk for the chicken and remainder of the meal. As I was a picky eater, Nicole made some adjustments to accommodate me which was not at all expected but very much appreciated. We ate our meal on their beautiful porch and took in the scenery around us. We also drank rum punch was very good. We had a great time!! All the food was excellent. It was such a cool experience, and so glad that we did it.

Like a mini-vacation within a vacation

We had a fantastic time cooking with Nicole. She is as talented a teacher as she is a cook. Our group appreciated how she guided us through the recipes and steps, and encouraged us to participate with the chopping, stirring, blending, and seasoning. The food ended up being beyond delicious--the best our family had while in Antigua. I easily ate my body weight in the Plantain Chips with Nicole’s Zesty Dip. But this experience wouldn't have been as wonderful without a genuine personal element. We loved meeting Nicole's family, including her husband, Adam, and talented daughter, Emily, and all of their pets, including three charming dogs, an I-rule-the-roost cat, and a small army of tortoises. By the way, the lucky dogs get nutritious homemade meals, prepared by Nicole! Being in Nicole's airy home, with its breathtaking views of the island, and interacting with her family members, friends, and the other guests, was like a mini-vacation within a vacation. I would highly recommend this excursion to anyone looking for a memorable adventure and delicious meal while in Antigua. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Fun, educational, and tasty!

We had such a great time at the cooking classes through Nicole's Table! Unfortunately none of the excursions offered by the cruiseline we were traveling on were too compelling, so we branched out and found Nicole's Table on Viator and are so glad we did. We got to meet people from different ships and tourists traveling independently and worked together to prepare a fantastic meal. The food blew us away and was our favorite meal from the entire trip. Nicole and her family are charming, engaging, and will keep you laughing and smiling the whole time. If you have the opportunity to take this class, we absolutely recommend it!

A down to earth excursion

During holidays, our family typically gathers in the kitchen to catch up. So for our Thanksgiving cruise, it only made sense to find an excursion to learn to cook Caribbean-style. This excursion was one our our favorites because it was so relaxing and "genuine." Rather than partaking of a shore excursion with a large group of people, my family of four got to enjoy a one-on-one experience with Nicole and her family. My children summarized our experience when they said, "It was just like visiting our aunt's house." An experience we won't forget.

What a great experience. Nicole and her family invite you into their beautiful home overlooking the city & ocean. Nicole & Emily taught us hiw to make Jerk Chicken and black beans & rice. Best cooking class in Antigua!

Came here during our 2nd day staying in Antigua and I’m so glad we booked this. We scheduled our transportation to Nicole’s Table via our resort. This activity was beyond my expec! From being welcome into Nicole’s beautiful home with breathtaking views, and cooking Jerk Chicken, rice and peas and pastries and more, we got to enjoy all of the food we made which I couldnt believe how greatit came out. Nicole provide great tips and tricks and guidance from beginninign to end. We had so many laughs during our time. If you are considering this activity, boom it NOW! You will leave Nicole’s Table will a happy belly and a recipe book with everything you learned.
