This place is GREAT! Yana did such an amazing job, explaining the history and the science behind rum and rum making. She is a class act. The combination of the rum tasting is spot on and the flavor and taste was amazing. The beach is right across the way. We went and got in the blue water, and had a blast. It was just and all around amazing experience.No hangover, We had zero issues booking or finding the location. My only quarrel is the price through the app. This was one of my favorite experiences in Antigua. I would definitely recommend it and I will be going back.

Our Rum Master and her (little) leader made the this both entertaining and informative.
The experience begins with a flight of rums, starting with an 80-proof rum and ending with their cream liqueur (similar to Baileys), so you might want to eat before arriving or maybe not!!
We learned how the distillery operates, why they use stainless steel stills, what the mash is, and even watched the fresh spirit come off the still (i.e., moonshine)
Then we got down to business and began creating. We got to choose from what felt like endless flavor options—ginger, lemongrass, almond, cinnamon, vanilla, and many more. Then we blended our own recipe and left with a personalized 750 mL bottle complete with a custom label and a wax seal.
We also arranged transportation directly through the Academy of Rum. Our driver, Bernie, was punctual, friendly, and shared some interesting history of Antigua during the drive. This was a far more economical decision than finding our own taxi.
Overall: A+. This was a unique, hands-on experience.
I booked the Rum Making Masterclass at Galleon Beach as a solo traveler, and it was blast from start to finish! The host were engaging, and the hands-on process of distilling and labeling my own custom bottle of rum was so much fun. Quick tip for anyone booking solo...you do a lot of tasting around 6 generous samples before you even start blending, so you absolutely need to have a driver or arrange a taxi in advance. This was the highlight of my time in Antigua!
I’m not a drinker but it was cool experience to learn making personalized rums. And staffs were very friendly.

If you weren’t a rum fan in particular before coming to Antigua you will leave one! Great class you learn about the process and make your own flavoured bottle to keep. Very enjoyable and well done, plus all the rums we got to try as part of the class were very good, 10/10 recommend.

You don’t get to make the rum you drink, the rum you drink is too expensive, the t-shirts are too expensive and we found out we paid too much for the activity booking through Viator, but overall it was a great experience

Rum making was very informative and fun. You get to create your own rum and name it. Also we purchased round trip transportation with them it was 20 per person.

I had a ball making my own bottle of Rum and gave it a special name. Named after my dad that passed this summer. I highly recommend taking this class solo or with a partner. Bring your drink pallet because there will be rum tasting.
Even if you don’t love rum, this is a great experience. Lots of tasting and the you have the chance to craft your own bottle of rum. Finishing with dipping the top of the bottle in red wax.

What a great time!! If you like rum, or even if you don’t, this class is a great time! We learned so much about rum and the process and then you get to mix and match your own flavors and take it home. You get to name your rum and get a fancy label for your very own bottle! Jody was a great instructor, and owner, AJ is so nice and knowledgeable.

You will distill your own bottle of rum. It was a great experience to distill, personally flavor and label your own bottle of rum. During the class you learn a history of rum on the island and taste the different flavors available. Its conveniently located right across from Galleon Bay so you can hit the beach and restaurant after if desired.
The rum instructor was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I appreciated the variety of flavors we were allowed to use for our rum. Would definitely recommend !
I had a great time making my own bottle of rum. I forgot his name but he was nice & very knowledgeable.
This was one of the better excursions I’ve done. Something different to do, taste liquor, learn about them with a nice little history lesson and top it off with making your own bottle. Worth every dime.
Fun experience. Quite interesting to learn about the rum making process. Also nice to try several of the rums the make there as well as be able to select the flavors for and make your own bottle of rum.
This experience was interactive, fun and very informative! I wanted to purchase 5 of the 8 rums I tasted, but am from the states. Instead, I did the mini bottles instead. I am excited about the rum I actually made! I went with a group of friends - 8 of us in total! We are planning to get together towards the end of the summer to "crack" our bottles and taste each other's creations!
My husband & I attended a rum making class in December and had a great time! The class was fun, personal, and very educational! Highly recommend a visit when in Antigua.
