Depart your central Amman hotel and chat to your private guide as you set off on your half-day visit to the Dead Sea. Then, settle into your private, air-conditioned vehicle and drink in the views as you travel past Jordan’s rugged landscapes and mountains.

Along the way, hear fascinating facts about the Dead Sea, a huge salt lake that sits around 1,312 feet (400 meters) below sea level, the lowest point on Earth. The famously salt-rich waters make floating easy, and the lake’s mineral-packed black mud is used in an array of therapeutic and cosmetic treatments.

On arrival, admire the views over the vast, glittering expanse of water, and enjoy a drop-off at the Dead Sea Beach Rest House. Here, enjoy ample free time to take a ‘swim’ and relax on the sands. Be sure to lie back in the waters to capture the iconic pose of reading a newspaper!

If you’ve upgraded, head instead for the Holiday Inn Resort where you can take advantage of a wider range of facilities. Enjoy a ‘swim’ in the lake, laze on the beach, take a dip in the outdoor swimming pools and feel free to use the showers, sunbeds and towels. Great experience but overpriced

Firstly, we do have to say that our guide was a 5/5. He was amazing and this review is not due to any issues with him! But, this half-day tour is VERY expensive. Even more expensive than our private full-day tour to Peta and Wadi Rum with a different operator!! The itinerary seems a bit misleading too, as we thought we would see some Salt crystals like in the company tour pictures, but we only went to the Holiday Inn, had lunch and got driven back to the hotel again. However, the experience was great, we are glad we did it, but we do feel it should have been much cheaper.

Pick up was early and driver was polite and very knowledgeable and passionate about Jordan. Everything was well organised. Floating in the dead sea is an experience but there is not much else to do and you have around 2 hours to spend there. The area of the beach is cordoned off so you are in a small area. Lunch is typical of a hotel buffet but lots to choose from. Drinks are expensive (£5 for orange juice) and are not included in the price of lunch. Driver was great

I recommend the Dead Sea and Zaid Tours, but the Dead Sea Holiday Inn should be avoided. The towel they gave me was wet and smelly. Every single locker was broken, some even ripped off the hinges. Staff just said to leave my valuables and passport anywhere in the change room … unattended … where everyone has access to it. I talked to 2 staffers, a supervisor and a manager. All were beyond apathetic. So I couldn’t to into the Dead Sea, because Holiday Inn provides no secure location to store anything.

Bader, the driver, organized a terrific half day trip from Amman to the Dead Sea. Bader was gracious and thoughtful and shared interesting perspectives on Jordanian history and society along the way. The resort included several pools, changing facilities, and easy access to the Dead Sea via footpath. Highly recommended!

Mahmoud was our driver and he was the kindest, most polite, welcoming person we could have wished for. His conversation, his education, his patience and his insight was absolutely fantastic. On the way home he even took us to Mount Nebo to show us the beautiful views. He is an absolute credit to the company. A superb trip and day out. We opted for the Dead Sea Spa Hotel; the hotel, the lunch and the hotel grounds (and four pools!!) were great - the only real negative was the beach. It was full of sharp rocks and stones and really unpleasant to walk on, especially as I didn’t bring flip-flops with me - but the sea is a joy to experience.

My driver/guide Hasam was on time and very pleasant. His car was clean and comfortable, as a solo traveler I felt safe and catered. After visiting the area with the mud and floating around for a while, I wanted to see where the salt was more abundant. Hasam Mindy agreed and drove the extra distance for me to take in this natural wonder. I highly recommend his company and him!

An enjoyable trip. Swimming in the dead sea was a great experience and I enjoyed the outdoor pool at the beach house. I have to say however that the trip was a bit expensive for what it was and they could have provided a driver with a higher knowledge of English and more of a commentary enroute. I could also have done with more time at the beach house - at least an extra hour or two. All in all though - not bad.

We arrived in the last days of Ramadhan and there were very few people on the public beach or in the public swimming pools. We had the a magical time and it was easy to just float for a couple of hours. Our driver was knowledgeable and pleasant and although the tour said half a day, he let us stay as long as we wanted. I would do this trip again!

The restaurant there was quite terrible, crowded, mass food and the smells of bad cooking kept us from eating. We left hungry. The beach was really rocky, I wish I had brought beach shoes. I could not keep upright in the water, so had to spend my time on the beach. I could have skipped this stop, and would not do it again.

La mer morte est un endroit incroyable, au-delà de flotter, l’univers « salé » est super. Notre chauffeur, Mahmoud, est une personne incroyable. Disponible à tout moment pour nous. En plus, après la mer morte, il nous a proposé de nous amenee voir le Mont Nébo et une fabrique de mosaïque, avant de nous ramener à Amman. Tout cela sans aucun supplément. Vraiment une super expérience !
