Itinerary

Meet a driver at your accommodations by the Dead Sea, and begin the trip to Aljun Castle in a comfortable, climate-controlled vehicle. The travel time to Aljun Castle varies with your location, but the site is 54 miles (87 km) from the north end of the Dead Sea, and the drive passes through a scenic landscape of pine forests and olive groves.

Upon arrival at Aljun Castle, you’ll have time to explore the castle on your own, following a fascinating history that includes Crusader raids, the Ayyubids, the Mamluks, and devastating Mongol attacks.

See artifacts from many of these time periods in the castle’s small museum, and walk the fortifications that held off Crusader attacks for decades. Look through the arrow slits in the walls, then climb to Aljun Castle’s highest point for sweeping views of the surrounding countryside.

Following your time at Aljun Castle, this full-day tour concludes with return transfer to your Dead Sea hotel.
