What To Expect

Start relaxing as soon as your private vehicle collects you from your Amman accommodation and transports you to one of the city’s traditional Middle Eastern bath houses. Dating back to the Ottoman Empire, the Turkish hammam is a relaxing ritual central to Middle Eastern culture.

On arrival at the bath house, you’ll don nahn (wooden clogs) and pestemal (a traditional, towel-like robe) before entering the steam room to cleanse pores of toxins and impurities.

Following 15 minutes of humidity, recline on a thermal stone bench as warm water is poured over your body, and then allow an attendant to deliver an invigorating soapy scrub to your skin.

Your experience culminates with a 15-minute massage, using rose water and aromatherapy oils, after which you’ll retire to a relaxation room to sip tea and relish feeling serene.

Conclude your experience with drop-off at your Amman accommodation.

Good experience overall, a few logistical challenges

Booked this for myself snd my partner originally believing it would be a couples session. It wasn’t, we did the session separately which was a shame as it would have been a lovely experience together. Also the evening before c21.00 when we were due to be picked up at 9am we were asked if we could move until 4pm, which we couldn’t due to other plans. Given I had been getting emails all week confirming 9am that was a bit annoying. This is the reason for the 4 stars as the experience itself was really good once I got past feeling a bit alone and relaxed into it and we managed to do this at the time arranged. I would definitely do it again though and would be more prepared next time. The ladies at the spa were really kind and tried their best to put me at ease.

We had a wonderful evening, taking ablutions at the famous Deniz Blue Bath & Spa hammam in Amman. They were able to provide services for both men and women, separate spas, but superb service in both Hasan our escort was superb. Meeting us at the hotel, escorting us to the baths and returning us thereafter. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The attendants at the hammam were similarly attentive to our needs and we were able to enjoy a classic Turkish bath which was superb. The perfect antidote to help one relax after a busy day touring the city which remains a splendid destination. Highly recommended.
