There were quite a few things that could have been better about this trip:
1) The pick-up was 45 minutes late. They did not proactively contact me about this. I called them several times for updates.
2) The vehicle (a regular car) did not feature branding or have anything official looking about it. As a solo female traveller, I didn't feel particularly safe getting in the car.
3) Everyone else on the tour was from one family. This is, of course, understandable, but the guide left us to have lunch without him. It felt a bit uncomfortable to sit having lunch as a solo traveller with a family I'd just met. This was particularly the case as we did not speak the same language.
4) The gorge (the focus of the trip) was closed. This meant we had travelled for 90 minutes and then had to leave. This was really disappointing. It couldn't have been helped by the guide; however, there should be a process in place whereby the company contacts the organisation that manages the destination to ascertain whether it's open. The gorge wasn't accessible due to the rain the night before; it was closed for safety reasons. Therefore, it wasn't a complete surprise. In future, if there is any reason it might be closed, it would be sensible to check prior to travelling.
However, the guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about this home country. He was also very responsive to the challenges posed (the gorge being closed) and came up with an alternative plan. The guide is the reason I am giving 4 stars. If he wasn't as good, it would have either been 2 or 3 stars.
Overall, it was not worth the money.

Zeer de moeite waard. Prachtig stuk natuur gezien en blij dat we het met een safari hebben gedaan, want het laatste gedeelte van de route erheen was wel spannend qua breedte en type van de weg en ook niet zo makkelijk te vinden. We hadden een super chauffeur/ reisleider, Olivier, die veel wist te vertellen over de omgeving en veel tips onderweg deelde. Ook de andere bezochte plekken, zoals de 3200 jaar oude olijfboom, het traditionele Griekse dorpje en de bijzondere lunchplek waren zeer de moeite waard.
