Cross charming footbridges that connect some hundreds of small islands that comprise Venice, including the Rialto Bridge. Get a look at the surrounding area, once the financial and trade center of Venice, and walk past Marco Polo's house; where one of the world's most famous travelers was born.
See Campo Santa Margherita and the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, where the 16th-century Italian painter Titian is buried. Upon crossing Campo San Bartolomeo see the Church of San Giovanni e Paolo, the resting place of many Venice doges, or leaders, of the city-state. Our guide Analisa, was very knowledgeable about the areas and sights. She also added a lot of personal notes/stories that really added charm to the experience. One note to others taking this your- keep up with your guide/ there are a lot of twists, turns and alleys and sometimes the audio cuts out when you are going around corners (they give you a device that makes it really easy to hear everything she says). If you keep up it’s not a problem.
We enjoyed the tour with Julia. It was great to have a local Venitian shows us Venice. It was very informative and gave us a great overview of the city and history. Great that we went through the not so busy parts of the city as well.
Would recommend for sure.
Gianmarco was a wonderful tour guide. Very informative and we learned a lot! I would highly recommend!
Very informative and well paced. The tour guide was wonderful and the length of the tour was just right.
The walk was a great introduction to Venice .. we were only there for a day so our guide ( I think Valva) was very knowledgeable and gave us a great understanding of the history and current day activities of Venice . Well worth it , great value for money .. highly recommend
Nice walk of the city with an overview of the history. Our guide was local and showed us some interesting areas out of the beaten path.
Wonderful tour filled with beautiful architecture and marvelous paintings! Our tour guide, Zoe, was knowledgeable, friendly, and proceeded through our itinerary in a purposeful manner. She provided local knowledge and interesting stories in addition to historical background. Only concern was the feedback from the earpiece we were provided with to hear the narrative; it was constantly crackling and even though Zoe attempted to make adjustments, it was very difficult to hear and most people complained that it hurt their ears making it difficult to enjoy the tour to it fullest potential. That certainly needs to be addressed!!
Our guide Alic (sp?) was great. She is from the area and lives in Venice and is very knowledgeable of the city. She covered everything we wanted to know about Venice and more. We searched around for a walking tour and we thought this was well worth it. 2 hours is the right length.
The only downside of this tour was the radio that would cut out frequently when we were walking. Fortunately, the only conversation we would miss were questions asked by other tourists closer to our guide. Alic says she doesn't usually give information while walking.
Aleci was such an amazing guide. Thank you for making our visit so much more rewarding! We will treasure the memory! Thank you, Ali and Suzy
Our tour guide was very informative, but unfortunately, we could not hear her very well. The earphone devices they use don’t stay close to your ear well and she spoke very softly. We missed a lot of what she was saying.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and told great stories. We enjoyed our tour!! Would definitely recommend!
The audio device to make hearing more accessible while walking around crowded areas worked very well and we didn’t even know it was an option from reading the original description. There is plenty of walking and you have plenty of time and opportunities to ask questions.
Concise, educational and entertaining walk through main Venice Sestiere. The wonderful Venetian lady Alice presented the heart of the city with some hidden gems.
This is an exceptional tour! Our guide was phenomenal! We had the best time and highly recommend this experience in Venice!
Alice gave our group fantastic insight into what makes Venice so unique, with a great combination of old history and current events included in her tour. She was interactive and friendly throughout our walk, and provided information even while she kept us moving from one area to the next. Highly recommended.
Guide was excellent! She navigated a tough afternoon with a rain shower that popped up. She really tried to accommodate everyone in the group and showed care/ compassion for all members of the group.
We only booked this the day before on arrival in Venice and pleased we did.
It gave us a lot of information about the establishment and development of Venice city.
Our guide was passionate about the city and imparted a lot of information
We had a wonderful time exploring the streets of Venice. Our guide was friendly, engaging, and very knowledgeable. She shared fascinating historical details about many of the city's monuments, landmarks, and architectural treasures, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Walking through the charming streets while learning about Venice's rich history was a highlight of our trip. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Venice!
Interesting and plenty of walking. The tour leader explained things well and was patient in handling questions. Note: we found the meeting point difficult to find (even with Google Maps) , so a larger or more prominent spot to meet should be considered.
Great tour by Alicia. Very interesting and fun! Fun little facts we would never know without this tour.
Had a great introductory tour with Jahdi (Jade) who provided a walking tour through Venice, commencing at the University district, in the west of the city, winding our way through lesser known parts to the main sites. Jahdi had great communication skills, and provided us with excellent information, including the history of the city, how the buildings floated on the clay foundations, the water and sanitary challenges, and the political landscape of Venice- really brought the city and its beautiful architecture to life, would thoroughly recommend this trip to any visitors.
Great tour we really enjoyed it. Jade the tour guide was fabulous and very informative. Would highly recommend
The guide was very well informed and very nice. She took us to all the amazing views and gave us time to take pictures as well as making sure that we are never lost along the way through all the crowds.
This was a great way to see the main parts of Venice, along with its history. Jada was a great tour guide, and was very insightful throughout. We’d definitely recommend this tour for anyone staying in Venice, and just want more of an intro to the city without it taking up too much time.
Jada was a great guide. This tour was a great way to learn about the city. I highly recommend booking this tour.
The guide never showed up, so I don't know if the tour would have been good or not. I have time-stamped pictures of the meeting place that show I was there.
The meeting place was changed and we were not notified. We were at the meeting point given to us, and met others there. One of them received a text after the starting time indicating a new meeting place so we followed and made the tour. Very unorganized.
We learned a lot about Venice from a very knowledgeable guide! Glad we booked this tour to understand more about this beautiful city!
Honestly you could probably skip the tour and wander Venice at your leisure. There were some interesting tidbits shared by the guide but it felt more like a 2 hour foot race.
Really interesting tour, excellent guide (Alice)
Learned a lot about Venice and its history in a couple of hours!
