Obidos is a don't miss medieval town in Portugal. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the town and learning the history of Obidis AND Portugal.
Joao Pedro (JP) was friendly and welcoming in demeanor..He was very knowledgeable about Obidos AND Portugal. He answered our many questions ( my partner loves history) and gave us little extra bits of information
He was wonderful and we loved the tour.

We had a great tour with Ivo, who is a wonderful guide with a wealth of information. Ivo is clearly passionate about the history of Óbidos and the surrounding areas, and presents information in an engaging, more conversational manner rather than just reciting facts. There were only four customers on our tour, which was conducive to us getting to know a bit about Ivo personally, as he did about us. We had taken the bus from Lisbon to Óbidos for the tour, and Ivo went above-and-beyond to ensure we went to the correct bus stop for our return trip. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Óbidos, Ivo, and this tour to anyone who will be in the area.

Great tour to get acquainted with Obidos and to find some of its secrets. JP was very proud and knowledgeable of his village. Due to a festival in the castle, JP had to adjust his tour and did so seamlessly. Beautiful city.

My wife and I took this private tour to learn about the history of the walled city of Obidos. Our guide Evu was able to bring the small town to life as if we lived when the town thrived centuries ago. Instead of walking the main road, he took a side road that was less travelled and very authentic. It is sad to learn the population of Obidos continues to shrink and it is becoming more of a tourist attraction than small olden village, but Evu really allowed us to imagine what it was like so long ago. Recommended!!!

We enjoyed our tour of this picturesque little town. It is the full medieval experience! Our guide Ivo was knowledgeable and had lots of interesting stories about the history of Obidos and greater Portugal as well. This town is all hills and the stone streets can be slippery when wet. Wear your good hiking shoes!

Great tour & guide - learned so much about the history of the area. He was also able to take us around town that avoided most of the crowds. Best to be there early in the morning before all of the big groups arrive by buses.

Upon our arrival we parked in a parking lot that had a ticket machine that only took coins. We did not expect that. There were no shops in the area to get change. When we met our guide, Ivo, and told him that, he offered us coins. Otherwise he told us that we would get a fine! Obigado Ivo! Ivo was personable and knowledgable. He shared with us so much information about Portugal’s past and present. We really enjoyed this tour!

Our tour guide never showed up and when we requested a refund we were unable to get it through Viator. Not very happy!

Ivo did an excellent job of giving our family a tour of Obidos. Ivo was very informative and had a lot of history to share with us. Wear good grip shoes as the cobblestones can be slippy. Excellent tour, highly recommend.

The town was beautiful and fascinating. JP gave a well organized, colorful overview of key events impacting the town and region during the the past several hundred years. We enjoyed the panoramic view from the top of the town walls, and visits to two of the village churches, one of which had a remarkable interior.
