Our 13 May 2026 private all day tour of Kyoto with Taka was one of the best tours we have been on not only in Japan but of all our family travels over the last several years. It was a combination of foot, subway, and taxi and we saw multiple historical sites, modern stops, and shopping. Taka is very friendly and knowledgeable. We were a family party of three adults. Michael our guide was knowledgeable and tells entertaining stories of his life story. It's great to know the ong long history way back in the 14th century and the wooden machiya merchant houses still exist to this day. He also adds the known number of Geisha's still exist with Geico's and Meico's, and one of the most interesting to know how the two is differentiated. It's very quaint little alleys, dimmer lights on the streets, bring a distinct feeling of how the town has maintained its' culture to the present time. A must visit.

A Great Tour to See Nara

Our first time in Nara, so we chose a short easy tour to see the sights. This was perfect, to the see temples and deer! Josh our guide was very knowledgable and made the tour really interesting. Definitely a great choice if you have limited time and want to see the main sights. Josh was so helpful by recommending a Katsu restaurant near Nara station, the food was amazing!

Umi was absolutely wonderful. She worked with us on a customized plan that included adapting for a member of our family that uses a wheelchair. The sites she recommended were perfect and gave us a nice touch of Kyoto. We particularly loved the final temple and the experience we had there. The lunch spot we ended up choosing was an excellent Japanese meal. She was extremely knowledgable about the sites, Kyoto in general, Japan's history, and more. You could tell she loves what she does.

The class was great. It was actually very hands on... you really make your own ramen with lots of elbow grease. The staff was great and efficient. Tuyo was the lead instructor and kept it entertaining and educational. You are able to choose from two different kinds of stock and between miso, soy, salt, or blend. You also get all of the delicious toppings. Their is no pork in this ramen either. Definitely recommend for solo, groups, and families. You also receive a photo, certificate, and bandana.
