Yuki was an amazing guide! He allowed us to customize our 6 hour experience in order to prioritize the sights we wanted to see in an order that made sense while offering insights and history along the way. He was patient while we shopped and helped us learn how to navigate the subway system. He also showed us some hidden gems within the more popular areas that made the experience even more memorable. If you are looking for a custom experience with a friendly guide, book this tour and request Yuki!

Our guide Famu was terrible—we do not recommend this tour. He had limited knowledge of the history of Tokyo or Japan; he spoke from prepared talking points and was unable to answer many of our questions. He fell asleep on the subway as we made our way to Shibuya. At the end of the tour, he told us it was customary to tip private guides 30%-50%. We’ve enjoyed tours via Viator on several occasions but this was a disappointment.

An unforgettable day in Tokyo! Yuki was the ultimate guide for our group of seven, keeping three teenagers fully engaged the entire time. He walked us thru the history of Asakusa, to see Capybaras and other animals, and also into Akihabara for an incredible afternoon of anime shopping and a fun maid show experience. Yuki took all the stress out of navigating the city, tailored the day perfectly to our family's mix of interests, and was wonderful to be around. If you are traveling with a large family or teens, we highly recommend booking with Yuki!

It’s a great tour made absolutely special by Hiyori. She showed us all the cool spots and we were able to go at our own pace. She explained the details to us quite well and was very friendly. We truly recommend her. It was an enjoyable tour and my daughter loved it too

We had a lovely day, with a very pleasant university student. Great kid.
That said, I had hoped for more. I have previously done tour in Japan with Nationally licensed guides and there are just so much more knowledgeable and able to share more in depth information about evening in the context of Japan and History.
So, despite thinking that the kid was excellent, I ultimately would not recommend this.

Be careful to book the correct tour if you need a car!! The ad reads that this tour has a private car, but it doesn’t unless you scroll to the bottom. On both forms I completed I told the tour operator that we were traveling with my 80 year-old father who is recovering from a hip injury at no time did they mention that we had not booked the private Karr option for the tour and instead we are now on a walking tour. Our guide Lisa was amazing and quickly asked if we could upgrade to car but it wasn’t an option. Instead she helped us navigate public transport via elevator, was amazingly patient, and made sure my dad could rest frequently. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the temples we saw and answered tons of questions my daughter had about shopping m etc. If not for the confusion with booking it would have been a 5 star review.

This is truly a customized experience. We were met at our hotel by our guide, Sota. His English was impeccable as was his knowledge of history and the city of Tokyo. You will be paying for your and his public transportation, a bargain in Tokyo. He was very patient with our speed , being a little older. He was open to changing the schedule as needed or preferred. So enjoyed his information and getting to know him. We were able to see everything we wanted plus some extras. He was very good at giving us directions on how we could navigate back to our hotel at the end of the tour. Learned so much. Loved the tour, highly recommend.

Ikuto-san was a fantatsic and very adaptable guide for our first ever visit to Tokyo! Our tour didn't start off with walk-friendly weather but he was very willing to work around the given conditions. We mainly centered our tour towards the more cultural and nature side of Japan with Akihabara and the Tokyo Skytree as the exceptions. The educational facts and linteractive quizzes he gave us as we headed towards each stop were very intriguing and interesting to learn about. He was efficient at answering any/all questions we had regarding Japanese life/culture. Communication all throughout the tour was very quick and efficient. Also, the food accommodations were incredibly delicious! Our family really enjoyed the tour and getting to know a little about Ikuto-san. I greatly recommend this tour for anyone that's looking to make the most out of their visit in Tokyo and spend some time with a local.

Very young inexperienced guide even through he was polite. His English was also so-so therefore if he had any knowledge about the city, he would not be able to communicate effectively. Again, nothing against the guide, but the company should better structure their tours and hire more experienced guides. No planning was involved or interesting facts provided. We were just walking around different shopping places and used subway a lot to visit 3 places in 4 hours. I do not recommend booking it

We had a wonderful day with our guide Shoma. He was friendly and knowledgeable and completely customized our itinerary to suit our family’s needs which included lots of shopping (Asakusa, Ginza, etc) and finding a cat cafe. Taking the train was seamless as Shoma knew exactly where to go and he also took plenty of great photos throughout the day too. This is a must for ensuring you hit the highlights that are important to you. Highly recommend!

Fuma was the best tour guide ever! He was very knowledgeable about the history of Tokyo and the places we went. He was very accommodating to our shopping needs and was really good with our 3 kids and got some great photos! We went to Akihabara, Takeshita street and Shibuya crossing in 6hrs. The perfect way to start our trip! This was our first experience after landing in Tokyo the night before, and it set the tone for the rest of our trip in the best way! Our guide Zenji was super engaging and enthusiastic, making our first day in the city low-stress, welcoming, and exciting! We saw everything from temples and shrines, to street food markets (which honestly had some of the best food of the whole trip), to shopping districts, to iconic tourist spots, all while learning more about the culture, the traditions, and especially the subway system (which, for a newbie, definitely came in handy). There is no doubt this is the easiest, most time efficient way to cram a full day of Tokyo in! My guide Yuki was incredible! He was very knowledgeable, super flexible, and the consummate professional. He reached out weeks prior, when I first booked this tour, and communicated constantly, especially as it got closer to time. He catered the tour to my exact needs, and filled in where I wasn’t sure what there was to see, it being my first time in japan. It didn’t feel like he was a tour guide, felt like a long lost friend. He created a remarkable and unique tour specifically catered to the things that interested me. I outdo;t have asked for a better experience! The vehicle was immaculate, super comfortable, modern, luxury to say the least with heating and cooling seats, recline, control over AC, automatic sliding doors. It essentially was like riding in a recliner from stop to stop. The luxury vehicle option is more pricey, but totally worth it! It allowed me to see and do more than I ever could have imagined on foot. My driver was immediately available, not one time did we have to wait at all. wonderful job! Highly Recommend!!

The guide was very kind, friendly, and easy to spend time with. However, the experience did not feel like a professionally guided tour.
We received very little historical, cultural, or contextual information about the places we visited, and there was minimal effort to actively guide the experience or build excitement around the neighborhood and attractions. Most of the tour consisted of us suggesting places to visit and the guide simply agreeing and leading us there without additional insight or recommendations.
For the price of the tour, we expected a much more curated and informative experience with a guide who could provide stories, local knowledge, historical background, and stronger direction throughout the 4 hours.
The guide was pleasant, but overall the tour did not provide good value relative to the cost.

We wanted to go see must see neighborhoods and attractions with a local lens. We asked for a customized fill day walking/subway tour. We had Naoki as our guide and he was fabulous! He was very flexible and adjusted things as we went along. We wanted to do like try on kimonos and try cold noodle soup for lunch and he found a good authentic place for us to eat. He also helped plan around our dinner location and time. We felt like we had a local friend along with us. Even interpreting for my skincare shopping. If you don’t know what to see because it’s I overwhelming I would ask for Naoki as he is chill and will plan your day for you.

Yosuke, “Yoyo” was the best, he took special care of my parents and even as he didn’t speak English he looked a way to communicate with them, and my parents love it. The experience is amazing all what Yoyo taught us.

We recently booked a six-hour customized Tokyo tour through Viator and overall had a really enjoyable experience. Our guide, Maki, was incredibly sweet, thoughtful, friendly, and easy to spend the day with. She had a very warm personality and made the experience feel comfortable and relaxed from start to finish.
The areas we chose to explore were Asakusa, Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, and Shibuya, which gave us a really fun mix of traditional and modern Tokyo. One thing we especially appreciated was how flexible and accommodating Maki was throughout the day. In Harajuku, we decided to stop for coffee and get latte foam art made of our pets, which ended up being one of the most memorable and unexpectedly fun parts of the tour. For lunch, Maki asked about our preferences and found a sushi spot she had researched for us that turned out to be absolutely delicious.
One issue we did encounter involved transportation logistics. We had originally arranged hotel pickup from the Hilton Tokyo Bay near Disney, but the day before the tour we were informed that traveling out there would take too much time away from the tour itself, so we would instead need to meet in Asakusa. While we completely understand the reasoning — Disney is definitely outside central Tokyo — it would have been very helpful to know this earlier, especially since we booked the tour well over a month in advance. Having to suddenly rearrange transportation plans the day before added a little unnecessary stress.
To their credit, they did try contacting me the day before via WhatsApp and the hotel front desk. However, we were at the Disney park all day and didn’t get the message until we got back to the hotel. Trip for future travelers: before arriving, download and turn notifications on for the WhatsApp so you don’t miss calls.
Another small downside was beginning the tour in Asakusa very early in the morning. We had hoped to spend some time shopping there, but most of the stores were not open yet, so we missed out on that aspect a bit.
As for the guiding itself, Maki did a great job navigating the city and keeping the day moving smoothly. Her friendliness and positive attitude were absolutely the highlight of the experience. I would say the tour leaned a little more toward a relaxed, casual day exploring Tokyo together rather than a deeply historical or cultural deep dive. We’ve done another Tokyo tour in the past with a government-licensed guide who shared much more detailed historical and cultural information, so that was the main difference we noticed here. That said, if you’re looking for a slower-paced, easygoing experience with a younger, very kind and personable guide, this tour could absolutely be a great fit for you.
Overall, we had a very good day and appreciated Maki’s kindness and effort throughout the experience.

Because Hilton Tokyo Bay is located outside central Tokyo, traveling there and back can significantly reduce sightseeing time during a 6-hour tour, especially when using public transportation. For that reason, our team sometimes suggests a more central starting point in order to maximize the overall tour experience. Our tour guide was very nice and polite. But very inexperienced. He told us he was only been doing this for two months. We went with this tour because we thought that we would have an experienced tour guide, especially for someone who is visiting Japan for the first time. Out of the four hours, we spent at least an hour and a half getting on subways trying to go to different places that the itinerary promised us, but it was absolutely impossible so the itinerary should’ve not included all the places that they said it would took much longer to get from one place to another. Unfortunately, this tour did not meet expectations of how the website described it.

We had an excellent private city tour in Tokyo with Naoki as our guide. He spoke excellent English, had a great sense of humour, and made the entire day enjoyable and easy to follow.
As a Tokyo local, Naoki had fantastic knowledge of the city, its history, and local culture. He shared so many interesting insights that we never would have learned on our own. One highlight of the day was a wonderful tempura lunch at a quaint local family-run restaurant, which gave us a truly authentic Tokyo experience.
One of the most helpful parts of the tour was how he taught us to navigate the train system confidently and even helped us organise tickets for the next leg of our trip.
Having previously lived in Australia, Naoki really connected well with us and understood our perspective as travellers. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo — Naoki went above and beyond to make our experience memorable.
