What are people saying about Hakone

Miu is thoughtful and educational
Miu is a very Chill tour guide. She arrives on time, and communicates the expectation the day before. We had to make a last-minute change due to our hotel logistics, and the company did honor the change. The day was educational, but also interpersonal. We felt like we really got to know our guide, outside of just the landmarks and locations we were touring. She was funny, patient, and took pride and Hakone. She also engaged not only us, but the vendors we went to as a Tour was wrapping up. The schedule was not pushy, the vehicle was very clean, and we were allowed to eat and drink in the vehicle. That was really nice considering you normally do not drink a lot of water on vacation. I would highly recommend Miu. I would also customize the tour to your needs. Some things we skipped, because we really wanted to enjoy the beauty of our hotel and the nature of Hakone.

Hakone Overview
It was a great overview of different sites in Hakone. Our guide Yumiko-san took us to a local restaurant for lunch that had really good authentic feel. The other sites also were not too touristy and was very relaxing. I love that we got to experience a tea ceremony in Gora Park one last time before leaving Japan. It was a long day but really maximized the sightseeing.

A Must!
We had a beautiful day with our guide, Hiro, who was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Japan. It was interesting to learn about the Japanese customs and the significance of th temples and shrines. Hiro also had the experience to know all of the ins and outs of navigating the areas to avoid the crowds. It was an unforgettable and beautiful tour.

Enjoy Hakone - we did!
All in all, a great day out, doing things you probably could do yourself but it takes any stress out of the day having all planned out in a logical and timely fashion. Tatsu was a great guide - no information overload, just enthusiastic detail and explanation of Japanese culture and traditions. The tour was conducted at a pace we were comfortable with and yes, I guess we were lucky wirh the weather but a second perfect day of Mount Fuji views, enjoying the Ashinoko Lake cruise and Odawara steaming Volcano landscape in between the Peace Torii Gate & Shrine and lastly the Gora gardens. Ideally you aditionally need the Hakone freepass, which we purhased at the start of the day.

The scenic mountain town of Hakone is known for its hot springs resorts and excellent views of Mt. Fuji’s snow-capped peak, and some Hakone tours include a traditional onsen experience. You can also take guided forest bathing walks, visit the town’s open-air art museum, attend a tea ceremony to learn more about the culture of tea, explore Hakone’s botanical garden, or go on a boat ride on Lake Ashi to see the bright red torii gate that marks the entrance to a Shinto shrine.
