DO IT - so much fun!

This was a TERRIFIC tour. Worth every penny. And although it sounds like a long day it went by super fast and was so much fun. Beware, a lot of steps (350 to be exact). It was nice to get out of the city for the day and see the mountains, ocean and local culture. Our tour guide Cipher was so funny and very nice. Highly recommend!

Great day in spite of rain

Our tour guide, Nana, was so much fun and completely flexible about our itinerary, so we had an amazing day in spite of the rain! Instead of visiting temples and shrines, Nana took us to Shifen Village to send up lanterns, and to see the Geopark which was just gorgeous. We then went to Jiufen Village and the crazy shopping area there. We got to sample so many local goodies and then had a delicious lunch in a local restaurant you have to access through a cave like passage. A day that could have been ruined by the rain, turned out to be one of our best thanks to Nana.

Best day trip ever!

This day trip from Taipei was a great break from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Shifen waterfall was beautiful, and the lantern experience in the old town might be our whole vacation’s highlight! Jiufen was quaint and fantastic. Our guide, Ruth, made the whole trip worth while. She didn’t just recite facts, she offered insight into Taiwanese culture as a whole. She kept us laughing and had fabulous recommendations on food, etc. She was an absolute gem.

Our tour guide Vincent was awesome! He was genuinely friendly and quickly made friends with our kids, making sure they were engaged and having a good time. He catered the trip to our interests, never rushing us off to the next spot just for the sake of checking off a list. Like coffee? Ok, there's a place you have to try. Need more time shopping? No problem, take your time. Vincent knows Taiwan like the back of his hand, but he shared his knowledge in a way that made it fun and engaging.
