An Authentic Mexican Cooking Journey with Chef Denise

Brandi_A, Oct 2026

Stepping into Chef Denise’s home felt like being welcomed into the heart of Mexico. Her warmth and hospitality set the tone for an unforgettable cooking class, where tradition and flavor came alive in every step. From hand‑crafting tortillas to mastering rich, savory dishes, Chef Denise guided with patience and joy, sharing not only recipes but the cultural stories behind them. The highlight was creating a decadent Mexican dessert that perfectly capped off the experience—sweet, vibrant, and full of heart. What made this class extraordinary was Chef Denise herself: her passion for food, her ability to make every guest feel at ease, and her dedication to preserving authentic flavors. It wasn’t just a lesson in cooking—it was a celebration of culture, connection, and culinary artistry. I left not only with new skills but with cherished memories of laughter, learning, and the taste of Mexico at its finest.

Salsas under the Yucatan Rainy Sun

IrmaMarrufo, Aug 2026

It was an intimate and fun experience in cooking. A must do while visiting Merida. Learn Yucatan cooking with historical information of the area. It was fun learning about history and cooking... Can't wait to teach my high school students how t make healthy salsa during my nutrition course.. That will be fun!!

Response from Host, Aug 2026

Thank you for such a wonderful review! We love hearing that you enjoyed both the hands-on cooking and the stories behind Yucatecan cuisine. And knowing that you’re planning to bring what you learned about making healthy salsa into your nutrition classes makes this especially rewarding, we hope your students enjoy the lesson as much as you did! Cheers! Maira from Cook in Fiesta

Unforgettable experience

Eric_D, Aug 2026

A fantastic experience. We often do cooking activities during our travels. But it was the 1st time with a real chef who is used to teaching cooking. Denise really cares about passing on her knowledge and that is felt throughout the activity. We had a wonderful time discussing cooking, but also Mexico and life there. And leaving with the PDF of the recipes is a very appreciated plus!

Cheers! Maira from Cook in Fiesta
