A really great half-day...

A really great half-day experience of something a little different in Shanghai. The transfers to and from the hotel were seamless. My guide, Snow, was really engaging and informative about the area, and her English is first class. She was really patient whilst I waited to take photos. I didn’t feel rushed at all. The gardens and waterways were stunning in the sunshine, and the hustle in the shopping streets always gives a little energy to proceedings. Overall, a fantastic way to spend a few hours in Shanghai.

Amazing private tour in Shanghai

We had an absolutely outstanding experience on our private tour of Shanghai and Zhujiajiao water town — a true five-star day from start to finish! Our guide, Lin, was exceptional in every way. Her knowledge was incredible, and she shared so many fascinating facts and insights throughout the tour that really brought each location to life. She struck the perfect balance between being informative and engaging, making the whole experience both educational and enjoyable. Lin’s English was excellent, which made everything so easy to understand and allowed us to fully appreciate the stories and history she shared. We always felt comfortable asking questions, and she was more than happy to provide thoughtful and detailed answers. Zhujiajiao water town was a highlight — absolutely beautiful and full of charm — and Lin made sure we didn’t miss any of its hidden gems. We also really loved the lunch she arranged for us; it was delicious and a perfect opportunity to relax and take in the day. Overall, this was a truly memorable experience, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. If you’re considering this tour, don’t hesitate — it’s a definite five-star experience, especially with Lin leading the way!

Happy I decided to do this food tour inspite of the rainy weather the day of the actual tour. Alex was a wonderful guide and had prepared a yummy circuit of food majorly in 2 areas. I loved the additions of the Chinese tea ceremony and fruit snack in between the highlights of fried scallion noodles, Cantonese duck, Shanghai fried dumplings and Xiaolongbao soup buns. Highly recommend this tour!

We had a very smooth and enjoyable Suzhou tour. The pick-up and drop-off between the hotel and bullet train station were prompt and professional, which made the logistics completely stress-free. The itinerary also had a good balance between walking and being driven, and the car provided was comfortable and of good quality. Our guide, Lulu, was excellent. As a Suzhou native, she knows the city extremely well and shared insights with just the right level of detail—informative without being overwhelming. For improvement, it would be great to include a few more sites in the itinerary. Ideally, at least two gardens and one temple would make the experience feel more comprehensive.

Funny stories and great food

Tom provided a lot of valuable and interesting historical context to my visit to Suzhou and Zhouzhuang Water Village. Some of the historical stories are funny and smart. Tom introduced me to great street food during the tour. Definitely will do another tour with Tom next time I am in Shanghai.

Good by day - spectacular by night

First half was an 1 hour cruise around the river - majority of buildings are covered in led's and whole area becomes both very colourful and atmospheric. Second part is a road transfer to Yu Garden where the buildings are all bathed in pastel light, this highlighting their ancient design. So that was the trip, but the whole event was made more than special by our guide 'Autumn'. Not only did she queue for hours during the afternoon before picking us up - this to ensure we had the best 'VIP' boat seating, she also managed to get us into all the Yu Garden areas before all the throngs of tourists arrived. Finally she added another walk around the magically lite French Concession area. The whole trip was simply superb.

A fantastic experience

This was a fantastic day out. Caroline was a fantastic accommodating guide. We were carefully shown around several sites as well as enjoyed a canal ride and rickshaw ride. Lunch was delicious and vegetarian dietary requirements were accommodated. Caroline was friendly, and passed on so much knowledge. It was a very enjoyable day out including the driver navigating very busy streets. Lots of photo advice and opportunities for breaks.

She was so patient with all my questions and incredibly knowledgable about everywhere we went. I made multiple changes to the original suggested itinerary making this even more impressive.
