During the demonstration, you will have some tea or soda, prepared by Chef with high quality ingredients from multiple Korean farms. By the end of the class, you will learn how to cook traditional Korean food from scratch. The space is also perfect for taking photos during and after class, and you will be able to have your food in studio or take it to go. We've explored hundreds of Makgeollis across Korea, finding fantastic, flavorful bottles—many from small, local producers rarely able to reach a wider audience. Our aim is to introduce you to the best Makgeolli in each category. The menu is thoughtfully designed to cover a balanced, beautiful table setting — from banchan to soup and main dish — all made by you. Rather than spending time outside, we give that time to real cooking and the joy of creating something by hand. We don’t run commercial market tours, but if you're curious, we're happy to share a few trusted, local markets that offer a more authentic experience. This is not a food tour. The studio is a traditional Korean house, Honok, so you'll see and feel the traditional Korean atmosphere while cooking. The place is easily accessible to Gyeongbokgung Palace.

Korean alcohol is a lot more than just a green bottle of soju, which is diluted ethanol with artificial sweetener. Broadly, Korean alcohols are divided into Tak-ju (unfiltered rice wine), Cheong-ju (filtered clear rice wine) and So-ju (distilled spirit). Here, we will focus on our specialty, soju, but we can also taste other types too. Samhae soju was a beloved choice of spirit among the noble class of Joseon dynasty(1392~1894). This luxurious alcohol had caused cult following, but the making was so resource(rice)-heavy that production had to stop during famines. The current master, Hyeonjong Kim had learned and practiced for more than 10 years under master Taeksang Kim who had inherited and kept the recipe in the family.
