Our guide was exceptional

Our guide was very accommodating to our members with mobility challenges. Even waited for us to make the long trek from the ship to past the taxi set ups. Jesus, our guide, was knowledgeable and patient. He wanted to make sure we made the most of our limited time on shore. He made sure we saw the highlights and arranged for us to re enter the port area closer to where the cruise ships passenger shore excursions were dropped off. We made it back to the ship in plenty of time. I just wish Celebrity had allowed more time in the Dominican Republic as it was one of our shorter port visits. I would book with Perez Tours (Viator) again and would request Jesus if given the opportunity.

So much fun!

We had such a great time. Our driver Fernando was excellent and kept us intrigued as he shared the history of his beautiful island with us. Great story teller! Our guide Jonathan was fantastic. He took great pics of us and I'm not photogenic. The adventure was so much fun! They got us back to our ship with plenty of time. I highly recommend!

This was my first time booking an excursion through Viator, and we had such a great experience! We did an ATV excursion that included two waterfalls, lunch, and a few extra stops. The only confusing part was figuring out which company was actually picking us up since that wasn’t clearly listed in the Viator description. We had to call the number provided to find out, but after that everything went smoothly. Our driver arrived on time and was great. The ATVs were clean and lined up when we arrived, and thankfully it wasn’t crowded. The ride was so much fun, and we were able to make a couple of quick stops for drinks along the way. Bandanas are recommended for the ride and can either be brought from home or purchased for $5. The two waterfalls were absolutely beautiful, and there was even a photographer available if you wanted professional pictures. Lunch was simple—rice, beans, and grilled chicken wings. The chicken was good, although the rice and beans were a little bland. They also gave us shots of Mama Juana, which was a fun touch! Afterward, our driver stopped at the beach for pictures, and we even had time for a quick swim before heading back to the port. The excursion was advertised as three hours, but since our group was small, they actually extended our time. We still made it back to the port on time. One tip: definitely wear good shoes! I wore my Tevas, and they were perfect because there are some slippery areas around the water. Overall, we loved the experience and would definitely recommend it!

Amazing Waterfall Adventure — Leury Went Above & Beyond! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We had an amazing experience at the Damajagua Waterfalls! The waterfalls, natural pools, slides, and beautiful scenery were incredible, but what really made our day special was our tour guide, Leury. He truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time and were well taken care of. After the waterfalls, Leury took us to Puerto Plata and even to a local beach, giving us a chance to experience more of the Dominican Republic beyond the typical tourist areas. He was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and made us feel like family. This ended up being one of the highlights of our entire cruise. If you get the opportunity to have Leury as your guide, you’re in great hands. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Super fun time, but you better be in shape.

This is not 4 hours. It's about 3 hours AT THE LOCATION. But it's about a 45 minute ride from Taino cruise port and probably similar from Amber Cove. You better be in shape. It starts with about a 45 minute hike through the forest including 2 different sets of about 100 steps each. We were soaked through by the time we reached the summit. Then you walk about another 10-15 minutes down hill to get to the zip lines. The zips were fun. Mostly short ones and they do all the work for you. After the zips, you walk about 10 minutes and then climb down wooden ladders into the water. You walk/swim along the stream down in the canyon until you get to the slides/jumps. Now it gets FUN. For the last jump, they let the kids climb back up the ladders and jump again and again and again. The slides are natural slides and boy do you go fast on them. We all had a FANTASTIC time but you better give yourself at least 5-6 hours to get this done. Also, if you have someone who does not like this type of adventure, you CANNOT avoid the zips. You can avoid the big jumps/slides by climbing down the ladders (we had a LOT of people in our group do this) but you cannot avoid the first two small slides. Also, they do HUGE groups. Our group was about 50 people. All told, we left the boat at 9:00 a.m. and got back a little after 2pm.

The meet up was a little sketchy at first whereas the other green shirts didn't seem to know anything about Viator or their drivers . Once we connected our day went well. We saw lots if things. The " plantation " visit was interesting and unique we learned quite a bit about life in the DR. The city tour was brief but hit all the highlights. We did not make it to the beach due to timing but it was really too hot to add that in. Our guide, Abraham, was very informative and accommodating. Very enjoyable day and worth the price.

Absolutely amazing. We started with the monkeys and ended at the falls. If you’re not up for a challenge and don’t want to walk/hike, sit this one out! It’s a difficult climb to the top. However, our driver, guide, and photographer were amazing. My son and I, had an absolute blast! I’d for sure do it again!

You’re treated like royalty! BOOK IT!

First of all, we were late and they were very accommodating and greeted us with open arms, smiles, and a ice cold water of bottle (which was appreciated after running to the meet up spot). From the start, it was awesome. The women greeted us with a smile, a nice AC van, and just taken care of us hand and foot the whole day for us, our family and children. When we went to zip line, you can tell they knew everyone and we were put in the front of the lines for zip lining, food, and more. The lunch is a buffet style but THAT FOOD IS AMAZING! We were Treated like royalty all day. Chocolate the photographer was amazing. He kept up with the hike, the kids, and got every moment from start to finish. He was awesome! Good things to know about this excursion: The meet up spot is about a 20-25 minute walk which ends up outside Amber Cove Port at a van (you’re going to think you’re lost but keep going). Water shoes are mandatory at the zip line spot so make sure you bring them (they have some for sale $20 and rent $5 - but they are rough and not comfortable) Their is about a 45 minute hike which is not for the faint, so if you have a person who is old, overweight, or even a young kid who isn’t athletically inclined - you’re going to be carrying them. (You do stop multiple times which helps catching your breath, taking a sip of water, and getting pictures). Bring cash for tips (they expect it but deserve it) ALL IN ALL - BOOK THIS EXCURSION! You and your family regret it!

Book this! You won’t regret it

This was the best experience ever! The guides were awesome! We got picked up outside cruise port so it was a bit of walk but worth it. They provided lockers for your things. They will get wet and muddy ALL OF IT WILL. Bring water shoes, cash and phones for photos. Leave the rest. Goggles are an extra $5. You make a couple of stops. First one they give you some island education and samples of tea, mamajuna, and fruit from the island. There are shops and drinks for purchase here as well. A bit pricey. But remember this is how they make a living. The second stop is at beach where I ran like crazy to jump in. Water was beautiful. There’s food and drinks for purchase here. The food is fantastic as always. Mofungo, ceviche, fresh fish. I will definitely do this again when I go back!

Worth the trip

excellent trip. First you will meet the guides , about 10 minute walk easy to find . Next is a trip into your destination about 30 minutes. next you will go the falls. Recommend durable water shoes it is very rocky, preferably one that you can walk in. You will walk approximately 15 minutes with graded elevation then to the falls. You can rent lockers or keep your things with the driver. You can also wear sneakers.

Great time!!

Great adventure to see areas you never see. There are not a lot of times where you go full throttle in the biggie, but several times to get wet. Visiting the native town was a great experience and the beach was a nice way to end the day. Staff was amazing. They were informative and attentive the whole time. I am a taller guy, they refused to let me stay crammed in the buggy and brought a bigger one out for us to use to make it more enjoyable.
