A wonderful way to experience Porto.

A very friendly welcome at the beginning. A brief but thorough briefing on the boat and its amenities. We gravitated to the upper deck even though it had been raining and the wind was blowing. The cruise was beautiful as we sailed under Porto’s six (soon to be 7) bridges. The sun came out during our trip through the old town and out toward the river mouth before turning around. The wine was poured throughout starting with a white and followed by a lovely red. And soon a plate of cheese, Portuguese sausages prosciutto and grapes came out which was not just dinner for us, but a perfect compliment to the wine. All in all a great way to see a historic and beautiful area and made that much better by a thoroughly competent and friendly crew.

Excellent deep dive into the port lodges of Porto

Excellent tour of the port lodges, visiting the famous Kopke-owned Calem port lodge to the smaller port lodges. There isn’t too much walking involved at all (the longest walk was from the meeting point to the Calem port lodge across the bridge which took no longer than 10 minutes). At the second port lodge, we were able to visit the rooftop bar which had fantastic views of the city. Our guide was extremely informative and we left having a good understanding of port and its origins. Our only suggestion would be to take a large water bottle with you!

Breathtakingly gorgeous scenery and experience

This was an incredible journey for us. Anabela was amazing and did a great job in various languages. We learned about Portuguese history and geography. She was specific and fun. The wine tasting was impressive and we tried 3 different types of port. The restaurant was a masterpiece of history! The food was pretty delicious too. Our guide stayed with us the whole time except for the boat ride which was breathtaking by the way. Peaceful and simply lovely. Water was calm and views were fantastic. Overall impressive tour experience that took us to parts of Portugal with rich history. Highly recommended!

A great day out in the Douro Valley

Our driver and guide for the day was Luis M he was professional, knowledgeable and friendly he ensured everyone was having a good time. The trip itself was great stopping at Amarante first and then 2 wineries plus the boat trip and a number of viewing points, all of which were very good experiences. My only negative was that there could have been more wine, but then there can always be more wine can’t there!. Thanks Luís M for a very enjoyable day.

A memorable evening watching the sunset from the River Douro

Oh my goodness what a great few hours we spent on the yacht cruise. Carolina was a fabulous host and Pedro a wonderful Captain. A great atmosphere helped by our glasses of wine and snacks. We played music, danced, sang and enjoyed spending time with our friends whilst sailing along the Douro with the sun setting. The yacht was so comfortable and it was great to go up on the upper deck to sit and take in the scenery of seeing Porto and Gaia from the river. It will be one of those lasting very happy memories. You should definitely do!

Durro Tour 2026

Day started wonderfully with Afonso (our guide) picking us up at our hotel. The drive to the Durro Valley was nondescript, but Afonso was great in filling in history and background for the area. We (3 couples in total) started the day with some pastries and coffee and then enjoyed a nice relaxing boat ride on the Dorro River. Afonso was always concerned about our comfort, experience, and needs. He was actually one of the highlights of the trip. The wine tastings were awesome with a bigger producer and then a smaller one. Lunch was incredible as we were treated to a small local restaurant that didn't have a tourist clientele. Owner was engaging and spoke no English, but incredibly personable and attentive. He made the wine we had for lunch and it's something you will never find in a store. Very unique experience! I would like to thank and acknowledge Afonso. He made the difference in his knowledge of the area, communication skills, and overall concern for our experience. Nicely done!!!

We were told about interesting sites along the way. There were beautiful scenery all along the cruise. A great lunch was served, with abundant beverages. The most interesting event for me, was the experience of going through two sets of locks where the river elevation dropped about 50 feet, each time. Over all, it was a very pleasant experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this cruise over the short bridge cruises. The nicest advantage of this cruise is that, you have a choice of being outside when you choose or inside in climate controlled comfort.
