What are people saying about Porto

Don’t miss this trip!!
This experience is not to be missed! The food was amazing! There was more than enough wine (which was also amazing) to have with the lunch. The last winery was ok. It had small pours and the wine was not to my style. The boat ride was great to be able to see the Douro Valley from below. Nice little spot of port wine in the boat too. We made a few stops along the way for pictures which was great too! Very much enjoyed! We had a family member with car sickness but took over the counter med and sat towards the front without any issues!

Fabulous private shore excursion along the Duoro River and Winery
Jose Cardoso was a fabulous tour guide for this exceptional private tour. He was passionate about Portugal and the world in general. He provided the commentary we love to hear when visiting a new country. Our stops along the way for pictures was so appreciated and the winery tour was amazing. We enjoyed a wonderful Portuguese lunch with terrific wine. If you are looking for an experience to see the Duoro River and the mountains full of vineyards, this is the getaway from the cruise port and the large city of Porto. Ask for Jose, he will not disappoint any visitor!

Excellent trip
We had a really perfect day. Our guide Jean was really friendly and had some great knowledge of the area and of wine. The locations - wineries and scenery were beautiful. Lunch was delicious and there was plenty of food and drink. Would highly recommend to anyone, we were really glad we chose to do a smaller group as it was more special and we had a private boat and table for the meal with our group who were all great.

Outstanding experience from begging to end
Our tour from Porto to Lisbon with João was absolutely wonderful and exceeded all of our expectations. Everything was perfectly organized, making the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free.
João was an exceptional guide—friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. In fact, I honestly thought he must have majored in history because he was able to answer every question we asked in great detail and provide fascinating information far beyond what we expected. His passion for the history, culture, and landmarks we visited made the trip even more memorable.
We learned so much throughout the journey and truly appreciated João's enthusiasm, expertise, and attention to detail. This was an unforgettable experience, and we highly recommend João to anyone looking for an outstanding tour guide. Thank you for making our trip so special!

A very interesting and historic tour.
We are happy we did this tour, just a little more experience of Portugal. I had read a little on Braga and we had planned on spending some more time in Porto but when I saw this tour it sounded great. The guide Diogo was young but had good sense and experience, he changed the itinerary to improve the experience and ensure we got the most out of the day. We loved both towns and had lunch in a lovely Italian restaurant but we were spoiled for choice. We particularly liked the cathedral. In all this tour deserves a 5 star review.

Great guide, great first stop…
Jorge was a great guide. Informative, engaging, always ready with an answer to a question. Kept us on schedule with clear directions, had a great lunch set up for us. I’ll say though, the experience felt a little weak esp after the second location (Guimaraes) just wasn’t worth the travel IMO.

lovely
Really fun especially as a solo tourist. The travel host was amazing. I wouldn’t bother paying for the wine tasting as most people on this tour ended up doing the river cruise so I ended up paying for both as I didn’t fancy doing the wine tasting on my own

David, excellent tour guide
David was excellent—very knowledgeable, friendly, and provided great service. To reach the top of the church, you need to climb a long flight of stairs. If you’re unable to do that, David offered alternative routes so we could avoid the long, steep climb. The tour itself is simple, but David made it engaging and enjoyable. All of his recommendations made the visit much more memorable and enhanced the overall experience.

Highly recommend!
Everything about this was fantastic! The early pickup was the hardest part for me, not because of the time, but because Porto isn't "awake" by 730 (including no breakfast at my accommodation). We did stop for about 10 minutes prior to arriving at the bridge, but a little more time would be helpful for those of us who needed to eat and grab a coffee to start the day. The drive, the suspension bridge, the Paiva walk--all totally great. Lunch was easy and delicious in a no-frills family owned type place (choices were pork, patinga (sardines), or a wonderful omelet for us vegetarians), with fries ("chips"), rice and plentiful water and green wine. Off for a quick stop in Calcado (the stripe house town) and then onto about 90 minutes in Aveiro. Personally, I would have been fine skipping Calcado for more time in Aveiro, but I know people like to see the ocean and the "insta worthy" houses. I am utterly mortified I cannot remember our guide's name, but he was fabulous--the right amount of chatty v. quiet, filled us in every step of the way, respected our need to nap in the van, etc. The other only suggestion I have would be to keep bottles of water in the van as a super nice bonus touch. I'm glad this trip was a small group (though we sort of caravanned with 3 other vans) because a larger vehicle on some of those roads would be nauseating. Opa!

Small group Porto city tour
Excellent tour in a very beautiful city. Our guide, Afonso, was very flexible in including our suggestions, interests and abilities in our time together. We covered a lot of ground, and found the tour most enjoyable and educational. Highly recommended.

Very informative tour of...
Very informative tour of the city of Porto. Julianna was very knowledgeable abt the town's history. She showed us the impact historical sites and told us where to go for local specialties as well. We enjoyed her company. It's like talking to an old friend. She is an amazing guide.

Jose was a great guide...
Jose was a great guide and worked with our group so we could adjust the tour according to what we were most interested in seeing and doing. He knows Portugal really well and his recommendations for food, etc. were excellent. We really enjoyed the convenience of having a tour tailor-made for us.
