Great experiences on the way from Porto to Lisbon
Miguel was a great driver and helpful and informative guide, as we visited Aveiro, Nazare and Obidos as part of our transport from Porto to Lisbon. This was a splurge for us, but we wanted to see more of Portugal than we would have if we just took the train, and we were glad we did. Obidos was our favorite, a postcard picture waiting to happen at every turn, topped off with some delicious ginjha (best partaken after you’re done waking the city walls). But we also loved the beach at Nazare, including a great seafood lunch (dourada on the beach!) arranged by Miguel. He helped us understand much more about all three places than we ever would have learned without him. Overall, a fantastic experience if you can afford it, that we would highly recommend. Thank you, Miguel - we will remember our day with you for a long time to come.

A Great Travel Back in Time
It was fun to visit some of the most historic sites of Portugal on this trip. Our guide & driver was great throughout the entirety of the itinerary, and we didn't feel rushed or in a hurry at all. The lunch was delicious and it was neat to walk around the historic center of Guimarães. Our family had a great time.

A tour not to be missed.
This has to be one of the best tours we have ever been on. Our tour guide “J” was so knowledgeable and friendly. Everyone on our minibus got on so well and by the end of the day we had all made new friends. The activities on the tour were so varied. The suspension bridge was a particular highlight. There is a lot of walking involved but we were fine with that. Then in the afternoon we even had a walk on the beach which we hadn’t expected. If you’re going to Porto you should definitely book this trip.

Porto tuk tuk tour
This was our first time in Porto and we were there only for the day. We had taken a boat cruise earlier in day and had lunch . The day before we decided to book a tuk tuk historical tour for 4pm in order to view more of Porto without walking too much. Our tour guide Gonzalo was great and very informative. He allowed us to stop and take photos as well he shared a lot of history about the different spots along the way. We had a drink included which was a delicious Porto wine. He took us to various locations alongside the water where we got great views of the bridges and beautiful scenery. Although it was a bit chilly due to the north wind , we were glad to have come prepared with layers of clothing and the experience was a great one for us. Thank you Gonzalo.

Day trip to Douro Valley
This was a good tour, we were picked up from Porto in a small group of 8 and driven first to a boat trip, then lunch at one winery, then a viewpoint stop and ending on another winery.
There’s a lot of driving & the roads are quite high and twisty so if you’re not great with heights/edges I’d stay away. Our guide, Alex, was a good driver and personable.
The beauty of the Douro Valley and the lovely weather did a lot of heavy lifting for us.
The boat tour was fine - it was a bit slow, so we only saw a small section of the river. The guys running it were really friendly.
Lunch decent, and the second winery we visited - Quinta da Foz in Pinhão - was great, with guide Joana really making it special for us.
It’s a solid trip that gets you to Douro, just be aware it’s lots of driving.

The best group tour we...
The best group tour we have been on since we have been traveling both at home and abroad .
Driver was also great. Well done Carlos and Miguel! The tour encompassed a variety of venues, plentiful and authentic lunch not to mention the port tasting experience! The tour was informative and fun! Highly recommend it!

Porto in the e Morning
Highly recommend getting a guide to familiarize yourself with new city to get the lay of the land before venturing on your own. Our guide Mayumi is a knowledgeable guide and passionate about Porto which comes across during our tour. She is a wealth of information which made us appreciate the history of this city even more.

Unforgettable Douro day with Bernardo
We had a private Douro Valley tour with Bernardo and it was outstanding. He has a warm, easygoing personality and speaks perfect English, which made the whole day smooth and fun. He was incredibly accommodating with our pace and preferences, and his driving was excellent the entire time: smooth, safe, and relaxed on those winding valley roads.
Bernardo is also very knowledgeable about Portuguese history, wine, and local culture, and he is genuinely open-minded and curious about other cultures. We learned a lot, never felt rushed, and enjoyed thoughtful stops and great conversation.
If we return to Portugal, we will book with Living Tours again and ask for Bernardo by name. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a stress-free, informative, and memorable Douro experience.

Jose was a great guide...
Jose was a great guide and worked with our group so we could adjust the tour according to what we were most interested in seeing and doing. He knows Portugal really well and his recommendations for food, etc. were excellent. We really enjoyed the convenience of having a tour tailor-made for us.

Fatima
Philip was a great guide with lots of historical information. We had a small group of 8 which is ideal. This was a very long day with lots of walking but our guide did a great job of breaking it up with rest stops and breaks. Great spiritual and historical tour.

A Great Culinary night in Porto.
Erica was very friendly and knowledgeable. A real pleasure to spend time with. We went to three restaurants and all were different and very interesting. The walk is not too far and down hill. The bifana (spicy pork sandwich) was the best. Not too keen on the Bacaolo (salted cod) though. Overall a great experience in the heart of Porto which I would highly recommend.
