This was a fun experience. The minimal cost you pay on Viator is the booking fee. There is no official “cost” for the tour, but the guides work for whatever tips we give them. Every tour has the potential to be different as the tour guide plans their own itinerary….though I’m positive they all go to the big ticket items :-) Our guide was Izzy. Great story teller. Very Informative World War Two Experience

We learned a great deal Michael, a highly knowledgeable historian and longtime resident of Koln. We saw some of the few remaining examples of the effects from the war and learned that the city was over 80% destroyed by an infamous RAF bombing attack in 1942. We were especially impressed by the fact that the famous Dom (Cathedral) was able to restored to its present glory. We also learned about how the Jewish people and other opponents of the repressive regime suffered and how they are now being remembered.

A must do

It was my first night in Cologne and figured, this will be a great way to start my trrip. Well, I wasn't wrong. We were quite a small group, 3 people in total, plus our guide Jenz. That just contributed the the atmosphere of the tour. It felt like being out with friends and enjoying the night. As it was quite crouded, Jenz offered to skip the main Christmas market and visit few smaller ones. Well, that was the right call. We saw Santas on motorbikes, live entertainment and tasted some delicious gluhwein. And the markets we visited were beutiful and each one a bit different from the previous one. Plus Jenz was great at sharing all kinds of historical and funny facts. Definitely recommend this tour
