Top Meteora Dining Experiences

Immerse yourself in the ancient religious traditions of Greece during a visit to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed orthodox monasteries of Meteora during this half-day excursion. These cliff-top religious communities offer panoramic vistas and unique insight into the country’s spiritual customs. Visit all six of the remaining monasteries and take a look inside three of them.

Hiking in Meteora without a guide may mean you miss hidden must-sees and history, or get lost. Make the most of the rock-pillar landscapes and monasteries on a half-day tour from Kalambaka with a hiking guide. Follow historical monks’ paths you might overlook alone, hear details on the area’s nature that many hikers miss, and visit one or two monasteries (own expense) on route. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included.

See the UNESCO World Heritage-listed monasteries of Meteora without taking multiple days out of your busy schedule to visit. Instead, take the train there from Athens in the morning and be back in Athens by the end of the night on this day trip with transport included. Drive by all six precariously-located monasteries and spend time exploring three of them; marvel at their remarkable architecture and at the scenic views from atop Meteora.
