The wild brown trout offers excellent sport from the season opener in March through its close at the end of September. The many fisheries in Connemara have networks of interconnected lakes ("loughs") and rivers populated by the native trout of Ireland. This wild brown trout in Connemara's lakes and connecting rivers average in size from one to two pounds. The trout fishing is very dependable, with hatches starting in April and peaking in May and early June. Then, caddis, crane flies and terrestrials keep the trout looking up all summer long. Because Connemara's rivers and lakes are acidic, food is scarce, so the trout rise eagerly to dry flies and take wet flies and nymphs with little hesitation. The "ferox", or large cannibal brown trout, prey on their smaller brethren in larger lakes. Your knowledgeable local French Ghillie will advise you on the best flies to use and take you to the best places to fish on the rivers. Pax: min 1, max 3 fishermen. Boat ride, island visit and Cliffs view

We actually visitednboth the cliffs AND the boat ride to the island, carriage ride and lunch, as the narrower trip was not running. It was great, start to finish, and we especially enjoyed the carriage ride and the cliffs!! Patrick was an outstanding tour guide, giving us his opinions as well as the history. We heartily recommend the tour, and if one can do the longer one, even better.

We had a wonderful time. Jerry was an exceptional tour guide. He had such in-depth knowledge about the history of all of our locations, and then some! He was also very helpful and considerate. Unforgettable Views of the Aran Islands & Cliffs of Mohe

An incredible way to see the West Coast! Taking the boat out to the Aran Islands gave us a fantastic look at local life and breathtaking coastal views. Seeing the Cliffs of Moher both from the water below on the cruise and from above on the cliff tops was the ultimate highlight of our trip. A quick tip for future travelers: Be prepared for potential motion sickness! The boat ride out can get quite choppy depending on the weather, and the bus ride includes some very winding coastal roads. If you're prone to seasickness or motion sickness, definitely pack some medication or motion bands beforehand. Overall, the tour was seamlessly organized, and our guide kept everything running smoothly while sharing great history and local lore. Highly recommended—just come prepared for the journey!

I was traveling to Ireland with my father. A trip 20+ years in the making and I knew I wanted to see the Cliffs of Moher. My dad being a wounded veteran, I knew he wouldn't be able to do an ALL day tour so we decided to do a half day tour. We met the passenger van at the address notated and a representative from the company gathered everyone at the spot where we would leave from. We were introduced to our driver, Mark, who was incredible. Not only did he know the roads very well, which were narrow and a bit scary with the bigger tour busses rushing by, but he gave us history along the drive to the cliffs (this was not something included in our tour). He was so extremely knowledgeable and patient. I enjoyed booking this tour tremendously. Highly recommend.

Great way to experience The Cliffs!

We were on a large bus with over 40 people on it, but the driver/Tour Guide, Patrick was so personable and entertaining, telling stories and sharing historical information, it felt like a more intimate group. All timing was very well planned and coordinated - very interesting …. Highly recommend!

Amazing landscape!

We had a lovely day driving through Connemara. The AMAZING views from the bus were accompanied by lovely stops that were very well timed, giving us enough time to enjoy each place without feeling rushed. Our guide was very knowledgeable, accompanying the historical facts with lots of interesting stories and funny anecdotes. I would definitely second his recommendation for the apple pie at Kylemore Abbey! Even though the weather was a bit cranky, it provided a beautiful backdrop to the incredible views and somehow made the landscape even more atmospheric.

A spectacular day!

This maybe my favorite tour yet! I really enjoyed it. Action packed and our guide Patrick shared so much knowledge about the history of Ireland and the area now. He was great, and the whole tour was super interesting, beautiful views, and very adventurous. I loved the journey to the smallest island of the Aron Islands and learning about the island and the people who live on it. The Cliffs of Moher were spectacular from the top and seeing it below from the boat! I highly recommend this trip!

Fun, in spite of weather cancellation.

This was a super fun day! We happened to be on this tour on a rare day with rough seas. The ferry ride to the Aran Islands was very exciting and very well conducted by the crew. We had a lovely tour by horse and cart. The cruise to the Cliffs of Moher had to be canceled. Since we were warned in advance, no refund was given. That being said, we got extra time on top of the cliffs, not the same, but still good. The wind was impressive. Take a raincoat and rain pants.
