Q: What’s the best way to get to Lake Louise?

Don’t drive to Lake Louise—parking is notoriously difficult (and expensive at CA$36.75/day). Instead, park at the Lake Louise park-and-ride and take the paid shuttle (CA$8 adults). Prebook your shuttle ride, as tickets sell out quickly. Or, come on a preplanned tour and skip the transportation worries.

Q: Do I need tickets for Lake Louise?

No. Tickets are not required for Lake Louise beyond the Parks Canada Pass, but you should reserve a spot on the shuttle in peak season (May-October), as the parking lot often fills up before sunrise. Make your shuttle reservations on the Parks Canada website. Early booking is essential in summer.

Our guide, Simon, was incredible. He picked us up in a clean van, told us a bit about the area, guided us on the hike, made hot coco and smores, and guided us through all of the high lights. He even took lots of family photos and was so great with our children. We really had a great day!

The directions to our...

The directions to our collection point were sadly inadequate so we missed it. Luckily we managed to pick up the tour at the next point. We had paid a car parking fee of CAD 50 at the first town so are not happy about that. The driver Ahmed was the best, most hospitable tour guide that you can have!! The BEST. The Lakes Louise, Moraine and Emerald were absolutelu stunning as were the additional stops.

Moraine and Peyto Lake plus the Icefield Parkway

This was an amazing all day tour. Quade was such a great tour guide. We stopped at many beautiful spots in and around Lake Louise and the Icefield Parkway. Quade was both gracious and professional all day long. He would walk to the sights with us and explain some of what we were seeing. He was kind enough to take our pictures in several places. Quade knew about all the animals in the park in that part of the Canadian rockies too. The van was comfortable all day.
