What are people saying about Banff

Best way to see the lakes stress free
Wonderful, stress free way to see the sights outside of Banff. They've timed every stop based on main attractions and Lakeshore hikes, and have thought about people needing lunch, too! We saw lots of wildlife on the bus ride, which was a bonus. Highly recommend.

Wagon cookout ride
If you want to be informed about the horses, the local area, the wildlife, the nature, the history, then this is definitely for you if you’re not interested in any of that it could just be a 3 hours in a wagon with some food on the way.
Also make use of the bathroom facilities at check in if you can’t old it for three hours and you are fussy about were you go as this is ment to be a authentic experience not a 5 star show.
We had a great time
Great informative staff
Good food
Chatting to others on wagon and around the table.

A little work pays off!
Lovely day! Lucy was a fantastic guide - knowledgeable and encouraging without being overbearing. Great activity for older kids and adults. You do have to actually row and work, so not great for very young or folks with injuries or physical disabilities.

What an amazing day with our fantastic tour guide, Rueben!! He is very personable, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the area, even only living here for a little over a year or so. He kept an eye on all of us during each stop (showing compassion and safety) and was a very safe driver and was keeping an eye out for any wildlife we came across. We highly recommend him and this tour. The bus was extremely comfortable, which is a high priority when doing a 8-9 hour day tour.

Excellente!!
The tour was absolutely incredible! It was well organized. Our tour guide Aashish was knowledgeable and friendly. We had enough time to enjoy the breathtaking views. He knew all the best spots and shared interesting details about the lakes and mountains. He helped us take beautiful photos of us with the scenery. Appreciative of his safe driving.

Our guide made every effort to make sure that we enjoyed the experience. He was informative and made sure that we knew what was available at both stops. Even though we had rain/sleet at Moraine Lake he handed out umbrellas to anyone who didn’t have one and pointed out the way to the coffee shop 🤣. Both lakes were beautiful rain or shine.

Awesome scenery and awesome crew
Bella, our tour guide plus Liv and the other captain provided a splendid experience. The lake is beautiful, and the surrounding mountains are breathtaking. Bella gave us a lot of information about the lake, surrounding country, the original human inhabitants, and more recent history. She punctuated her presentation with occasional humor and smoothly incorporated a set of pictures into her presentation. (And she demystified the legend of the lake monster.) It was a great way to spend on hour on the water.

Breathtaking
Absolutely unforgettable experience at Johnston Canyon in Banff! From the moment we started the trail, it felt like stepping into a postcard. The turquoise water, the sound of rushing waterfalls, and the stunning canyon walls made every step worth it.
The walk itself was easy to follow and incredibly scenic, with well-maintained pathways and breathtaking views at every turn. Reaching the Lower and Upper Falls was the highlight—each one more beautiful than the last. The fresh mountain air and peaceful atmosphere made it such a refreshing escape from everyday life.
If you’re visiting Banff, this is a must-do. Whether you’re going for a relaxing walk or chasing views, Johnston Canyon delivers pure magic. I’d go back in a heartbeat!

We had a wonderful evening on this tour. Hiking at night is so peaceful. The trail was quiet and the snowfall was perfect ambiance. Having the headlamp was nice for when you wanted to look at something but walking with the dark sky was sensational. Neil was an incredible guide, and we would take a tour with him again, in a heartbeat!

Fantastic day hike!
I did the Larch Valley Hike and it was fantastic! Super well organised, pick up and drop off was on time, and the packed lunch was great. But our two guides Evie and Jade (hope I got their names right!) really elevated the experience - they were friendly, experienced hikers and made the whole group feel very safe and welcome. I was also lucky enough to have a great tour group, which made for great conversation! This is my second Discover Banff tour and I will always recommend this company if you’re looking for a great day out in Banff.

Highly recommend. A really enjoyable evening!
We highly recommend this tour. Sam, our guide for the evening, was a wealth of information - both on ghosts and the history of Banff. We found it fascinating AND spooky! Sam even recommended some additional tourist hot spots (the less well known ones) to check out and places to eat. She went the extra mile, answered all our questions - even tho it meant extending the tour by an extra half hour for us. All in all, a great experience with a well informed guide who went the extra mile to make our experience a really good one. Thank you Sam ☺️👍

Peaceful, quiet and beautiful - a good gondola choice!
A secret gem of a gondola that was quiet, secluded, not packed with people and a total escape from the busyness of tourist season in Banff! On the way up in the chairlift we could have heard a pin drop it was so peaceful and quiet. We didn't visit Banff Gondola but feel that we made the right choice for us by coming to Sunshine Meadows. The trip up in the gondola took 20 minutes ish and was spectacular, the chair lift a quick 5 minutes on from there and then a short walk to the most spectacular viewpoint of our entire holiday. A good range of walks and trails are clearly signposted from the viewpoint - on this occasion we opted for a slightly gentler one but still took our time taking photos of the stunning scenery. It is definitely chillier at the top than you'd think so worth taking layers (even in Summer) and sunglasses! Well worth the money we paid.
