Unorganized is how I would describe this experience. We met at the meeting place, no flags, no signs….just a random person sitting on a bench with her adorable dog. We could have just as easily bought our tickets from the Basilica site. St Peter’s, though, was astounding. The Church is huge with amazing sculptures, paintings, even dead bodies. Go to St Peter’s Basilica, just buy the tickets directly. There is no advantage here.

Scammer - even 1 star is too much for them

Absolutely unacceptable experience. We were two people, and we purchased this tour—even though St. Peter’s Basilica is free—specifically to save time. We followed every instruction, arrived at the meeting point 15 minutes early, and even left another tour temporarily to be there on time. No one showed up. At 4:15 PM, after the official start time, we finally received a message asking where we were—despite the fact that we had been standing exactly where their own instructions directed us. After raising a dispute with the Viator contact center, the operator finally contacted us, but the refund was still denied. This behavior is dishonest and unprofessional. Stop scamming tourists. Everything you do will eventually come back to you. Avoid this tour at all costs.

Not worth the money

The people organizing the tour had no idea what they were doing. It happened to be two young ladies who were talking to multiple people on their phones trying to figure out what they should do. When they finally left for the guided entrance we aired in very long lines. The Vatican people were very helpful and told us to ditch the tour group and get into another line. That line was way faster and we only waited about 20 minutes as opposed to the tour group who waited several hours. We were leaving St. Peter’s around the time the tour group got in. A total waste of time. We will be requesting a refund.

Unexpected queueing.

They cannot guarantee no queueing. At 11.00 it was horrendous. Very squashed together. Some people gave up. Not a place to have young children or elderly people. Tempers were getting frayed. Once we did get through that first queue it was faster to get in but our group got split up in the process. The basilica itself did not disappoint. I confess I did not listen to the audio. It was busy inside so I am not sure how well that would have worked. It's a shame there isn't a more effective way to control the queue when it is that busy. Maybe there are too many tickets available at certain times. If I ever came back I would definitely go early or late to avoid this situation. The guide did say there was likely to be a queue so it seems this type of ticket is being sold under false pretences ( skip the line) and no refund was being offered at that point. To be fair the guide did her best in challenging circumstances to get us through. I just would question if too many tickets are being made available. Not sure who controls that

A nightmare

I didn't go. The skip the line was not skip the line. Smashed in w hundreds of people Guide left me behind in line. Didn't hold her sign up I left at 3:20 out of line. Someone hit me accident and I couldn't breathe That's why I booked skip the line The guide had a million excuses. I was close to St Peters evening before and free line moved quick. Tour guide had NO Idea of I was even behind her
