Poás volcano is a powerful symbol of the geothermal forces that formed Costa Rica. When the mist and clouds part you’ll see the sulfuric, bubbling, green rain fed lake at the bottom, surrounded by smoke and steam rising from fumaroles. Water from the lake is constantly seeping through cracks in the hot rock, evaporating and building pockets of steam. When the pressure in these pockets exceeds the weight of the water above, the steam breaks through in geysers that rocket up to 820 feet (250 meters) high. ATV and zip lining day

We had such a great day from the moment the driver picked us up at our hotel until he dropped us off. We loved the Atv Tour and got to swim in the waterfall pools. Our guide. Darien was so fantastic. The lunch was delicious. After lunch, we went zip lining and all of the guides were really great. Our Driver Diego was amazing as well. He pulled over to show us a Costa Rican parakeet, we stopped to see alligators and grab anwe stopped to see alligators and grab a snack, and he brought us to a local spot for the most delicious fresh ceviche. Would highly recommend this amazing tour.

Peaceful and fun horseback experience with calm horses and patient guide who spoke very clear English

Wonderful, patient and friendly family-run business. Tour operator spoke perfect English, answered every question we had, everyone was patient. Our tour was 8 including 2 small children, 2 teens and there were 3 guides. We felt very safe and cared for. We even saw a sloth in the trees and a tiny orange frog. We wore water shoes. Pacos horses was an incredible experience! The guide was amazing and offered to take photos for everyone while we were riding which was great. The horses were absolutely beautiful and the views were also gorgeous! Towards the end , we stopped and they gave us some water and fresh pineapple and watermelon while having a view of the volcano! Definitely recommended this experience!

This tour was a fantastic...

This tour was a fantastic way to see La Fortuna, especially since we had limited time in Costa Rica. Our guide, Hayro, was so knowledgeable and did an amazing job at the hanging bridges, pointing out so many interesting facts along the way. Ending the day at the natural hot springs was pure bliss. It is quite a long day, so definitely eat breakfast or bring snacks! Overall, we enjoyed this wonderful tour so much and highly recommend it.

Great intro to Costa Rica

We hope you’re lucky enough to have Hayro as one of your guides. We lucked out having him three days on our trip. He is incredibly knowledgeable about each of the areas he took us to, found animals, insects and birds would never have seen without him. He clearly knows the area well, knows staff at the parks and shares tidbits about the country’s history and culture with you throughout the day. He ends the day telling you what to expect for your next day which is very helpful. The excursions all come out of San Jose so be prepared to spend some time on the road. CR traffic is bad and unpredictable which can make some days end late. Dinner is on your own each day which implies to me we’d be back by dinner - assumably 7 pm but two nights we were back later - 8-9pm so bring some snacks. Each day is well thought out and organized. Excursions in each direction from SJ which gives you a good amount of windshield time to see broader parts of the country. The lunches provided are great. We really enjoyed getting to know the other travelers in the group, it mixes up most days as some begin their 8 days and others peel off completing theirs. We spent a couple days with some we really enjoyed. Pack a variety of clothes as the excursions take you to beaches, rain forest and volcanos so having a thin jacket as a windbreaker/raincoat is ideal. You go from sea level to over 10,000 ft (not same day) so pack some items for a little cooler/breezy conditions. Overall had a really good time.
