A Perfect Blend of Ancient History, Natural Beauty & Authentic Greek Hospitality
Our Lake Vouliagmeni Thermal Spa and Temple of Poseidon Private Full-Day Tour was one of the highlights of our time in Greece, and so much of that was thanks to our incredible driver, Dimitris.
From the moment he picked us up, Dimitris made us feel like welcomed guests rather than tourists. He was warm, personable, and an exceptional driver who shared stories and local insights throughout the day. His genuine pride in Greece made every stop even more meaningful.
The Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion was absolutely breathtaking. Perched dramatically on a cliff nearly 200 feet above the Aegean Sea, the temple was built around 444–440 BC during the Golden Age of Athens. Dedicated to Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, it served as both a place of worship and a landmark for sailors returning home. Standing among the remaining Doric columns while gazing out over the endless blue waters, it was easy to understand why this location has inspired visitors for more than 2,400 years. The combination of archaeology, mythology, and stunning coastal scenery makes it an unforgettable experience.
Our stop at Lake Vouliagmeni was unlike anything we’ve experienced before. The naturally heated mineral waters were wonderfully relaxing, but the biggest surprise was the tiny Garra rufa fish that gently nibbled and tickled our feet as we soaked in the lake. It was a strange sensation at first, but quickly became part of the fun and made for plenty of laughter. Surrounded by limestone cliffs and lush greenery, the lake feels like a hidden oasis just outside Athens.
To top off an already incredible day, Dimitris recommended lunch at 4 Brothers, a beautiful waterfront restaurant serving incredibly fresh seafood. It turned out to be one of our favorite meals in Greece. The setting was stunning, the staff were wonderfully friendly, and every dish reflected the freshness and simplicity of authentic Greek coastal cuisine.
If you’re looking for a tour that combines ancient history, breathtaking scenery, relaxation, and authentic local experiences, this is the one to book. And if you’re fortunate enough to have Dimitris as your driver, you’re in for an unforgettable day. An Unforgettable Journey Through the Heart of Ancient Athens
Our full-day private tour of Athens exceeded every expectation and was one of the absolute highlights of our time in Greece. While Athens itself is extraordinary, it was our driver, Aris, and our guide, Vasso, who transformed a sightseeing tour into an unforgettable experience.
Aris was a phenomenal driver, navigating the busy streets of Athens with ease while making us feel completely safe and comfortable throughout the day. What truly set him apart, however, was his kindness and authenticity. He shared personal stories about his life and Greece that allowed us to connect with him on a much deeper level. By the end of the tour, he felt more like a friend than a driver.
Vasso was equally incredible. Her passion for Greek history, mythology, and archaeology was evident from the moment we met her. She isn’t someone who simply recites facts—she is an exceptional storyteller who brought every site to life. Standing atop the Acropolis, listening to her explain the significance of the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Temple of Athena Nike, and the Propylaea, it felt as though ancient Athens had come alive around us. Her ability to weave together history, mythology, politics, and daily life made every stop fascinating.
The itinerary was perfectly paced and included so many iconic locations. From the breathtaking views atop Mount Lycabettus, to walking through the Ancient Agora—the birthplace of democracy and philosophy—to witnessing the Changing of the Guard at Syntagma Square, every stop added another layer to our understanding of Athens. We also appreciated driving past landmarks like the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Panathenaic Stadium, the Academy, University, and National Library before exploring the charming streets of Plaka.
Lunch in the traditional neighborhood of Koukaki was another highlight. The authentic Greek food was delicious, and the restaurant did an excellent job accommodating our dietary needs, ensuring my vegetarian husband had wonderful options without compromising the experience.
If you’re considering a tour of Athens, don’t hesitate to book this one. The sites themselves are extraordinary, but having guides like Aris and Vasso—who are knowledgeable, engaging, courteous, and genuinely passionate about sharing their country—makes all the difference. They didn’t just show us Athens; they helped us understand why this city continues to shape the world thousands of years later.

Great Day in Athens!
Our family of four spent an entire day in Athens with Panos who was our driver and guide for our private tour. We had a wonderful day and saw all the sights on our "must see" list before we departed the following day for our cruise. Panos was a fantastic driver and tour guide. Would highly recommend!

Half day Athens tour
Nikos gave an excellent tour of Athens. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and kind. He helped us get to each place safely. He told us much about the history of Athens and Greece. It was very interesting to us and our three kids. We covered everything we wanted to see in Athens. We would highly recommend Nikos for this tour.
