Itinerary
Kick off with morning pickup from your Athens hotel (private tour option) or from the meeting point near the Acropolis metro station (small-group tour option) and head directly to the Acropolis. Enter with skip-the-line tickets and enjoy free time inside to take in the Parthenon and other highlights.
Next, move on to the Temple of Olympian Zeus and Panathenaic Stadium before the scenic drive to the top of Mount Lycabettus to take in the view. After a stop to admire the ancient Agora, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and Academy of Athens, take a break for an included lunch.
Your day ends with a choice of visiting the Acropolis Museum or Natural Archaeological Museum (tickets own expense) or enjoying free time to shop and sightsee in the historic Plaka neighborhood before drop-off at your morning meeting point.

Awesome tour. Tours guide was prompt, handled everything we needed and the sites of Athens were incredible. Dimi was exceptional with his knowledge of the city and able to explain items in clear English. Definitely recommend Dimi.
My wife and I took the Athens Full Day Private Tour with Olive Sea Travel on September 16. I booked the tour months ago because my wife walks with a cane and an ankle brace and I had many questions. I had many email conversations with Gianna at the company. She was always prompt with her responses and provided the exact information I wanted. Our “driver” on this tour was Yiannis and he was so much more than a driver. He was aware of my wife’s minor disability and dropped us off as close to each stop as was possible with a car. His commentary about the city as we were driving was wonderful. At each stop, before we proceeded, he would explain what we were about to see and the history behind it. The lunch was delicious and it was truly a full day tour. It is well worth the cost, and we would highly recommend you request Yiannis as your driver.
We also booked a transfer from our hotel to the cruise port the next morning. We were surprised when Yiannis showed and we had another enjoyable half hour with him as he explained the history of Athens seaport.
Ancient Athens was so interesting! Our tour guide was great; everything was very smooth and organized. The lunch was delicious!
Covers all the major sites. Our driver was great. We had the company hire a personal tour guide for the day and that made the experience even better. The driver would drop us off and then our guide would take us around. Then, the driver was waiting for us. Made the day very enjoyable.

What really stood out was his ability to bring the history of Athens to life. Rather than simply pointing out landmarks, he helped us understand the people, events, and culture behind them.
The entire day was thoughtfully planned, informative, relaxed, and incredibly enjoyable. Dimi was professional, personable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about sharing his city with us. He made sure we had time to appreciate each stop while also tailoring the experience to our interests.

OLIVE SEA TRAVEL is THE BEST Tour Company. This is a Bespoke Tour. They were professional, courteous, knowledgeable and well worth the cost. This was the finest excursion/tour we have ever had! We made the mistake of booking with another ‘highly rated’ guide for another tour. That other company could not find our reservation after taking our money and then a ‘driver’ showed up 30 minutes late and could not speak English well. We suspect this was a ‘driver’ from a transportation company and not even part of the ‘tour company.’ In sharp contrast, OLIVE SEA TRAVEL sent NIKOS for our Full Day Private Tour of Athens. He was on time and the car was new and spotless. Nikos was a native Athenian and he spoke excellent English and he was a human encyclopedia of knowledge about the history, culture and sights of Athens. He knew exactly where to go and even gave us tips about where to stand for the best photo ops. We booked the Full Day Private Tour of Athens (8 hrs.). Our tour included Front-of-the-Line tickets to the Acropolis (saved us 1/2 hour of waiting in the hot sun in line) and the Ancient Agora & Temple of Hephaestus (saved us another 1/2 hr.). We opted for the National Architectural Museum (extra 20€ ea. for Front of the Line Tickets) but saved another 1/2 hr. We were treated to an excellent Lunch at a locals’ favorite taverna, Proedros, which was air conditioned and which had the best gyros and baklava. The tour with Nikos and Olive Sea Travel made us feel like celebrities or royalty. DO NOT skimp when booking a once-in-a-lifetime tour. This is the finest experience and it is a real value considering what is included. Thank you, Nikos and Olive Sea Travel for making our tour of Athens into a memory of our lifetimes!

According to the driver of the tour the company Viator Customer Service rep, advised false information about the tour. I learned this on the day before tour. I explained my side of the story a d the owner of the tour refused to refund my money. The driver of the tour understood the confusion and the owner still refused to refund my money. When you are running a business stealing money should be on the bottom of the list.
Don’t hesitate to book this private tour!! Our tour guide Nikos was nothing short of amazing! He was so informative. Never did we feel rushed and the lunch was superb! Although I must say it was a lot of food!!

What a great day...even though it was 102 degrees...Nicholas was friendly, well i formed and flexible. We were there the last week of August...which I recommend because traffic was light and highlights were b ot as busy as normal.

Can't beat the private tour. Guide was very knowledgeable and the van was excellent. The guide drops you off at the front entrance. We had a sick member and he was very flexible.
Traveling with 8 people is not easy to coordinate excursions and interests. This tour was perfect for us. The itinerary was very inclusive of all attractions and culture that makes Athens unique. Having a delicious authentic Greek lunch was a nice touch too. Our tour guide and driver were very nice, helpful, and professional. They really wanted this to be a special experience for us. It was worth the extra money to have a licensed tour guide. It added so much more education and depth to what we were seeing. When the tour was over, I got so many thank you’s from my family for organizing this. If you don’t have many days in Athens for sight-seeing, this is the tour to take. It was definitely an excursion to remember!
